Effective date: October 26, 2026
Prime Sharc ("we", "us", "our") built the Stepify – Step Counter & Fitness Tracker app (the "App") as a free, ad-supported app. This page explains what information the App uses, how it is handled, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Stepify counts your steps using your phone's built-in step sensor and calculates distance, calories and active time on your device. Your step history, workout sessions, GPS routes, goals and profile details are stored only in the App's local storage on your phone. We do not upload this data to our servers, and we do not sell it.
Profile details you enter during setup (name, age, gender, height, weight and daily step goal) are used only to personalise your goal and estimate stride length, distance and calories.
App backup is disabled, so your fitness data is not copied to cloud backups by the App.
Uninstalling the App or clearing its data permanently deletes this information.
No account or sign-up is required, and we do not ask for your email address or phone number. Entering a name is optional and it never leaves your device.
The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device, such as the device model, operating system version, advertising ID, IP address and app usage events. These services are:
Your steps, health measurements, location and photos are never shared with these services by the App.
If the App encounters an error, Google services may collect technical data (log data) such as your device's IP address, device name, operating system version, App configuration, and the time and date of use. Log data never includes your step history, body measurements or location history.
The App shows ads (such as banner, interstitial and app-open ads) through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your advertising ID and similar information to show ads and measure their performance. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. You can opt out of personalised ads or reset your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
The App asks only for the permissions it needs. Each is used for the purpose listed below:
Physical activity (Activity Recognition): to read your phone's step sensor and count steps.
Location (precise and approximate): only during a workout you start, to measure distance, speed and draw your route. Location is processed and stored on your device only.
Notifications: to show the ongoing step-count notification and goal or reminder alerts.
Foreground service, run at startup, wake lock, exact alarms and ignore battery optimisation: to keep counting steps in the background, restart after your phone reboots, and save your daily total at midnight.
Photos (gallery): only when you choose a photo as the background for a shareable workout card. The photo is used on your device and is not uploaded by us.
Internet: to load ads and send analytics data to the services listed above.
Storage (Android 9 and below only): to save share images.
If you deny a permission, only the related feature stops working; the rest of the App continues to work. When you share a workout card, it is sent through Android's share sheet to the app you choose, and that app's privacy policy then applies.
Cookies are small files commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. The App does not use cookies itself. However, third-party libraries and services used by the App (such as AdMob) may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information and improve their services.
We may use third-party companies to help provide the App, serve ads, analyse how the App is used, and fix problems. These third parties may access limited information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to use it for any other purpose.
Because your fitness data is stored on your device, it is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption). We use reasonable measures to protect the App, but no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not retain your steps, workouts, location or profile data on any server. You can delete your data at any time by clearing the App's data in your phone settings or by uninstalling the App. Data collected by third-party services is retained according to their own policies; you can reset your advertising ID to disconnect previously collected advertising data.
The App may contain links to other sites or apps (for example, ads or the Play Store). If you open a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We have no control over and are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites, so we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can take the necessary action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.
