5 Years ago, on the 26th of January 2019, I left my home country of Sri Lanka at the age of 16 and moved to Australia. In February 2024, at the age of 21, I returned to my home country, to face the reality of her citizens having faced a global pandemic, the worst economic crisis in more than 70 years and the family that I had left behind. 

This piece documents my journey in coming of age while developing a transnational identity. The emotionally wrought paradoxes and nuances that supplements this voyage manifested in manu realisations and epiphanies for me. 

This is my attempt at expressing my primordial soup of emotions that was felt throughout.
