Stand up to Moms for Liberty in Philly!
Authoritarian groups like Moms for Liberty and their allied politicians are building power in divisive and destructive ways, stoking fears and mobilizing resentment against the full inclusion of Black, indigenous, people of color, and LGBTQ communities. They're purging books about these communities and their experiences from library shelves. They're harassing educators and advocating for laws designed to intimidate and limit teaching to content approved by right-wing ideologues.
We know from history that such extreme measures are hallmarks of authoritarianism and need to be soundly rejected.
That's why we're coming together as moms, grandparents, organizers, and community members to stand up for the freedom to learn and protest Moms for Liberty!

June 29th at 12:30pm: Banned Book Giveaway!
Please join our friends from the Campaign for Our Shared Future (COSF) on Thursday, June 29 from 12:30 to 3pm for a Banned Book Giveaway! In light of the extremist anti-student organization, Moms for Liberty, making its way to Philadelphia, COSF will be handing out FREE books that have either been banned or challenged somewhere in the U.S. due to the radical agenda of Moms for Liberty and their political allies. Come to the corner of Filbert and N 12th streets in Philadelphia outside the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on Thursday, June 29 from 12:30-3pm and get your free banned books! This is a family-friendly event.
June 29th at 1pm: Sign Making Party
Join Defense of Democracy to make signs ahead of the weekend of protests.
June 29th at 2pm: Drag Queen Story Hour and Protest Training
June 30th at 9am: Stand up to Moms for Liberty!
Join People For the American Way's Grandparents For Truth and our amazing partners for a press conference and rally to protect the freedom to learn and stand up to Moms for Liberty!
June 30th: Protest at the Mariott (all day)
We're lining up outside the Mariott where the Moms for Liberty summit is happening! We'll be outside from 9am to 5pm ET. Join us!
June 30th at noon: Freedom To Read Rally + March
Moms For Liberty will be protesting at the Free Library branches and we will host this rally to tell them we will protect our libraries from their book bans and our communities from their hate speech.

Spread the word on social media
Our voices are powerful! Help share the message with your friends and family on social media. There’s three ways to do it.
One: share the Grandparents For Truth graphic on your social media channels, and use the post to tell people why you’re a Grandparent For Truth.
Two: download the Grandparents For Truth poster, and write in why you’re joining the movement. Share a picture of you with the sign to help spread the word!
Three: Follow the organizations listed at the bottom of this page on social media, and share their posts about the protest!
