Simeon

. . . was a scholar who was working to translate Holy Scriptures. While working with the book of Isaiah, Simeon read about the “virgin” who was to conceive. Simeon thought the word “virgin” was incorrect and was going to correct it to “woman” when something held him back and told him that he would see the child before his death. When Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple for circumcision, Simeon recognized Jesus was the child who was to save us all.
