StampCam
Last Updated: May 30, 2026
Summary
StampCam is an Android watermark camera. Core camera preview, watermark rendering, media processing, and export workflows are performed primarily on-device. Optional location, weather, and elevation features may process location coordinates when enabled. StampCam also uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for usage analytics, diagnostics, and crash reporting.
We do not intentionally upload your photos, videos, exported media files, custom watermark text, or precise location coordinates to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how StampCam processes information. It applies to the current StampCam application and builds distributed from this project unless a specific release states otherwise.
2. Information We May Process
2.1 Camera and Media Content
When you preview, capture, record, import, or export media, the app may access camera frames, photos, videos, and generated output files. These files are primarily processed locally for preview, watermark rendering, video processing, and saving.
2.2 Location, Weather, and Elevation Information
When you enable location watermarking, GPS follow mode, address-based elements, weather elements, or elevation elements, the app may access precise or approximate location data. This may be used to generate addresses, coordinates, weather details, or elevation values.
When weather or elevation data is requested, latitude and longitude values may be transmitted to third-party service providers. Network requests may also expose your IP address to those providers.
2.3 Device and App Information
The app may process device model, operating system version, app version, current time, and related technical information to generate watermark content, improve compatibility, and assist with troubleshooting.
2.4 User Configuration
Watermark styles, custom text, opacity, scale, element toggles, position settings, language preferences, and related workflow state may be stored locally on your device.
2.5 Usage Analytics
Google Firebase Analytics is enabled by default. It may collect app interactions, session information, app instance identifiers, device and app information, approximate location derived from IP address, and advertising identifiers where available.
StampCam may report events such as app launches, permission results, capture mode changes, photo or video capture results, video duration, selected watermark style identifiers, language changes, image quality changes, and watermark setting changes.
We do not intentionally include photo or video content, media file paths, custom watermark text, email addresses, precise coordinates, or street addresses in Firebase Analytics events.
2.6 Crash and Diagnostic Information
Google Firebase Crashlytics is enabled by default. It may collect crash reports, stack traces, logs, custom diagnostic keys, crash thread information, app state, device and app metadata, installation identifiers, and native crash information such as NDK minidump data where applicable.
StampCam may also report selected non-fatal errors, such as photo capture failures, video recording failures, video processing failures, and settings update errors.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide camera preview, watermark rendering, photo capture, video recording, and media export.
Generate timestamp, location, weather, elevation, device, and custom text watermark elements.
Store local preferences and workflow state.
Understand feature usage and improve product quality.
Diagnose crashes, native failures, and compatibility issues.
StampCam does not currently provide account registration or cloud media synchronization. Core photo and video workflows do not depend on uploading your media files to our servers or to Firebase.
4. Permissions
Camera permission is required for camera preview, photo capture, and video recording.
Microphone permission is required when recording video with audio.
Location permission is required for location, coordinates, address, weather, and elevation-related features.
Media or storage access may be required to read selected media or save exported output, depending on your Android version.
5. Local Storage and Security
StampCam may store preferences, watermark settings, workflow state, and temporary processing files locally on your device. Photos, videos, and rendered output are generally written to system media directories or app cache directories.
No device, software, or network environment can guarantee absolute security. You remain responsible for device access control, backups, and sharing choices.
6. Third-Party Services
StampCam may use:
Google Firebase Analytics for usage analytics.
Google Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and diagnostics.
wttr.in for weather lookup when weather features are enabled.
Open-Elevation for elevation lookup when elevation features are enabled.
Android system services and app distribution platforms where applicable.
Third-party services process data under their own privacy policies. Their processing may occur in countries other than your country of residence.
7. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until deleted through the app, system settings, file management tools, or app uninstallation. Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies and configured retention settings.
8. Children's Privacy
StampCam is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
9. Your Choices
You may refuse or revoke camera, microphone, location, or media permissions through Android system settings. Related features may stop working correctly.
You may delete locally stored media, cached files, preferences, or uninstall the app. You may also manage advertising identifiers and related privacy controls through your device settings.
The current version does not provide an in-app switch to disable Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics collection.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in functionality, legal requirements, or operational practices. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date and provide additional notice where appropriate.
