Mr. Stallworth's Classroom

Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to view my website! This is where you can access all-information regarding the MUHS band department and its director. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!

About Me

My name is Josh Stallworth, and this is my 7th year of teaching, 2nd year as Director of Bands at Mingus Union High School! I am so excited for another school year to begin and more than ready to continue helping our MUHS band students be the best they can be on their instruments.

I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, about 30 minutes east of Chicago, IL. I attended Portage High School where I graduated with Academic Honors. While at Portage, I studied several areas in music and was a member of many award-winning ensembles.

I was blessed to earn a performance scholarship to Valparaiso University where I earned my Bachelor of Music Education. While at Valparaiso, I was a 4-year member of the Chamber Concert Band and Saxophone Quartet, completed 3 tours across the United States with the college's top ensemble, partnered with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 2 holiday performances, and studied under Dr. Jeffrey Scott Doebler, past president and state editor of the Indiana Music Education Association.

Shortly after graduated college, I moved out west to Arizona and I love it here! I previously held the position of Director of Music at Florence High School before joining the Mingus Marauder team.
