My career pathway has been built through a combination of hands-on experience, education, and leadership in the fields of emergency management, homeland security, and public safety. Beginning at Port Allegany Jr.-Sr. High School, I completed both my college preparatory and Career and Technical Center (CTC) diplomas while attending Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center’s Homeland Security program. During this time, I earned multiple certifications, including National Registry EMT, NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800, as well as Pennsylvania State Fire and HAZMAT certifications and ALICE training. These experiences introduced me to the foundations of emergency services and inspired me to pursue a professional career dedicated to protecting and serving others.
Continuing my education at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management and Homeland Security with a minor in Criminal Justice. Throughout my time at Penn College, I have furthered my education by obtaining multiple ICS/NIMS certifications and applying my skills in practical settings. I have served as Incident Commander for the Lost Hiker Exercise at the Penn College Schneebeli Earth Science Center in Fall 2024, Operations Section Chief for the 2024 Rotor Fest, and Deputy Operations Section Chief and Staging Area Supervisor for the 2025 Rotor Fest. In addition, I have been an active member of the planning committee for Rotor Fest and have demonstrated leadership by founding and serving as President of the Penn College Outdoors Club and as a member of the Emergency Management Club Leadership Team during the 2024–2025 academic years.
Beyond my academic involvement, I continue to gain valuable field experience as a live-in firefighter and EMT with the Montoursville Fire Department. Since joining in April 2024, I have earned certifications as a Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Technician, Heavy Vehicle Rescue Technician, Water Rescue for the Emergency Responder, Pump Operations 1, Basic Ropes and Rigging, and Pro Board Firefighter 1. This dual perspective, both as a first responder and as an emergency management student, strengthens my ability to understand the operational and strategic sides of public safety.
I have recently completed bachelor’s degree and will continue to build my skills and certifications within emergency response and management. Long term, I plan to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Safety and Emergency Management. My ultimate career goal is to apply my emergency management knowledge, leadership experience, and integrity-driven service to protect local, state, and national security and serve my community on a larger scale.
