There are three ground-floor Chapels, the Mothers’ and Babies’ Chapel, The Baptistery, and the Lady/ Winter Chapel. The Chapels are visually linked with similar shapes such as circles and the crescent moon. The crescent moon is an important symbol of Our Lady and is also echoed in the Clerestory connecting the two storeys together. The recurring shapes in the ground-floor Chapels and the Clerestory visually and meaningfully reiterate the key themes in Our Lady’s of the movement of the Holy Spirit, the beginning and the end, and the Incarnation.
