Students learn the ins and outs of all things theatre, the various careers in the field, and how to prepare for a career in theatre.

Students with a passion for performance dive deeper into the art of performing theatre. They build skills by practicing the work of varying acting theorists and end the semester with an original performance for young audiences that they take to the local elementary schools!

*Students must complete Foundations of Design And Performance before taking this course or receive instructor approval. 

Students from the ASD program work with students in the theatre department to create a full production from start to finish!

Students with a passion for technical theatre dive deeper into the variuous career paths within the field. Students get hands-on practice designing technical elements for theatrical work. Students get time to learn and work with the actual tools and technology they will find once they enter the theatre industry.

Students begin to refine skills in all areas of technical theatre. They will explore theatrical design in all areas, and practice designing with safety in mind.

Students from both pathways come back together. The first semester is focused on beginning to build portfolios and audition books. Students attend Thespian Conference to perform, present, and network with industry professionals from across the state (and even some from across the country.) Second Semester is spent divising original theatrical works as a class. Students leave with a full grasp of the production process from concept to performance. Throughout the year, students work with guest speakers and artists to learn the ins and outs of a life in theatre.

*Students must complete Foundations of Intermediate Theatre or  Intermediate Tech Theatre and Advanced Tech Theatre before taking this course or receive instructor approval. 

Combined with the Production Management class, students spend semester 1 continuing to build portfolios and audition books. Students again attend Thespian Conference, this time with a collegiate focus. Students prepare college auditions and meet with schools. Students also have the opprotunity to talk with theatre artists from across the country!

Second Semester is spent divising original theatrical works as a class. Students leave with a full grasp of the production process from concept to performance.
