While in attendance at the U of U, I worked on The Tempest as the 1st Assistant Stage Manager working on the Props of the show. This show was the 3rd show of our 2023-2024 Department Season.
Betrayed by her sister and banished from her home, the noblewoman Prospera flees to a strange, wondrous island with her books of magic and her daughter Miranda. Twelve years later a ship comes into view, carrying the very people who wronged her. Consumed by vengeance, Prospera summons a storm to wreck the ship and force it ashore. The reckoning that follows will leave them all forever changed.
THE TEMPEST is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays: a tale of spells and shipwrecks in faraway lands; a story of love, betrayal, and forgiveness; and a lesson on the nature of creation and the power of art. Directed by Melinda Pfundstein.
