Your task is to investigate the refractive index of a glass sample in order to identify the type of an unknown glass block by using Snell’s Law and graphing measured data.
You are required to complete a Depth Study of 9 hours in-class work and submit a report on the refractive index of a sample glass block.
This task is completed in three parts: researching, writing a method and undertaking a practical investigation.
Use in-text citation to reference your answers and provide an appropriately presented bibliography.
In class, you will be required to develop a valid procedure to fulfil the task above, including steps that will ensure good reliability, and write an appropriate risk assessment.
THIS IS SUBMITTED PRIOR TO STARTING THE INVESTIGATION.
In class, you will individually carry out an investigation by following a SUPPLIED METHOD to find the refractive index of an unknown substance. You will gather and present data, analyse the data to determine the refractive index and analyse the processes you have undertaken. Then submit a report on your practical investigation for marking.
