In stage 5.2 of Probability, students further develop both their mathematical and logical skills from stage 5.1 by exploring and interpreting chance experiments. Using their previous knowledge, students relate what they have learnt to simple and compound events that may occur in real life situation such as determining the probability of drawing a red ball out of a bag filled with 5 red balls and 4 green balls with or without replacement.
The concept of probability is apply to various real life situation where meteorologists use probability to predict the weather and to communicate their predictions through calculations and predicted outcomes. Insurance companies also make use of probability to determine premiums, where they attempt to predict the chance of any particular age group experiencing accidents.
