Task One - Spelling Test (post test).
We are completing another spelling test to measure our improvement in the spelling of some key geographical concepts. We will continue to measure our progress throughout the year.
Complete the spelling test as before, by spelling out each word, as you think is correct, when your teacher reads it out loud.
By the end of this lesson you should be able to:
1.Explain why geographers make field sketches;
2.Recall the steps in making a field sketch;
3.Identify key features in field sketches.
Today you will learn how to complete field sketches. Work through the EP task on field sketches - take your time because there are 6 steps to complete in creating a field sketch and I should be able to see all of them once you have completed task 2.

Task 2 - use Google images to find an image of your local coastline or one of the Northern Beaches. Choose an image with not too many details and some clear lines that you can use as your base image. Draw a field sketch by closely following the 6 steps.
Task 3 - at the end of the lesson, take a photo of your field sketch and upload it to the classroom. Anyone with evidence of all 6 steps will receive a merit award.
Extension - complete the Geography in the News Quiz for this week.
