Performance/Composition/Listening/Musicology

You will create and perform your own arrangement of Eliza Aria using the score provided and study the piece through the concepts of music. A comparative analysis of a dubstep version of the piece is also explored.

  1. Download a copy of the score of Eliza Aria (either from your teacher or online) and perform it on your chosen instrument. Record multiple lines by using the acapella app or similar. Alternatively, you may wish to perform it for a solo instrument or voice.
  2. Create a cover version of Eliza Aria. You must develop and manipulate at least 3 concepts in your arrangement to create a re-imagined version of the piece. You might choose to use an app or software like google flat or sound trap to do this.
  3. Perform both arrangements of the piece and record them on your phone or iPad.
  4. Using your recordings, identify the differences between the two musical arrangements in terms of the concepts of music. Write your observations in your digital classroom/workbook.
