My name is Stacy Costello, and I was born in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan in a small town called L'Anse. I moved to the Kalamazoo, MI area as a child. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, and a minor in Integrated Creative Arts. I studied post-graduate classes in the area of social/cultural/economic foundations of educational thought, and educational technology.
I taught at the elementary level (mainly 3rd grade) for 25 years at Comstock Public Schools. During the last several years of my teaching career, I was very involved with bringing art into the classroom through The Kalamazoo Education for the Arts' "Aesthetic Education" Program. Throughout the years, I've taken many art classes at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art, namely painting, drawing, and printmaking. I am also a hobby beekeeper! I reside in the Kalamazoo area with my husband Doug, and our animals. We love the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, music, and traveling. I hope you enjoy my art!
