Eddie Landry, a native Texan found his passion for the outdoors as a child through the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed heading into the woods for a weekend with friends and family where they would share stories, food, and enjoy the beauty of nature. Eddie is an Alumni of The University of Dayton, where he earned his bachelors in Art Education, with a concentration in photography. During this time, he met people that started to help connect his love of the western lifestyle and photography. He started to photograph local horse shows at local universities and would trade photos for lessons with some of the students.
While in college Eddie immersed himself into the equine world soaking up all the information he could. During summers, he managed Equine programs at summer camps to not only continue his horse education, but develop his teaching skills. He would also lead trail rides at a local park and learned how to drive a team of horses, which would be used for wagon rides.
After college, Eddieworked as a caretaker at a show and breeding facility in North Carolina, focusing on Belgian Horses. During this time he continued to take lessons with a local trainer and purchased his first horse, Smoke on the Water. He was unaware at the time how much this horse would teach him over the years.
Eddie and Smoke on the Water moved back to Ohio and continued to work and improve their communication and partnership. The next barn Eddie worked at became his home for 10 years.
At this private facility, he learned not only the skills needed to run a facility and business, but also ran a college internship program. Eddie and the facility also supported the local community by hosting Boy Scout and Girl Scout horse badge weekends.
Eddie added a second horse to his herd, a AQHA buckskin named Cielo. She came to him as a 2 yr old that was lightly started. When Eddie purchased Cielo, he had just been introduced to the Vaquero style of riding and wanted to train her in that style. There were few in person resources available for him in Ohio, so he read books and watched DVDs to assist him in bringing Cielo along. Besides showing in local shows Eddie has also shown at the prestigious All American Quarterhorse Congress, and numerous local shows in the Ranch horse classes.
In 2020, Eddie and his family moved to Greenacres, WA. Since the move, Eddie has continued his education and has achieved a new level of success. He is very proud to have ridden with some of the best horsemen and women in the country and will continue this tradition so that he may continue to guide his students to have their best be better. .
