Stacey L. Brockman

Welcome! I'm Stacey Brockman, an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Wayne State University.

My research focuses on understanding and addressing the policies, institutional practices, and structural barriers that shape students' postsecondary pathways and success. I conduct partner-engaged research with school systems, colleges, community organizations, and state agencies to generate evidence that informs policy and practice. My recent projects examine community college student persistence and completion, transfer and developmental education reforms, college affordability and basic needs supports, and the role of mentoring and coaching in promoting educational success. Much of my work is conducted in partnership with organizations in Detroit and across Michigan and seeks to advance more equitable pathways to college completion and economic opportunity.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan where I was an IES predoctoral fellow in the causal inference in education policy training program. I am a former high school teacher and intervention specialist.
