STACKKK — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Applies to: STACKKK v0.4.53
Publisher name: STACKKK
This notice explains what information STACKKK stores, where it is stored, and how it is used. STACKKK keeps the bookmarks, boards, notes and attachments you choose to save, along with your preferences, within your Chrome profile.
1. INFORMATION STACKKK STORES
1.1 My Library. For each bookmark you save, STACKKK stores the website address, page title, screenshot or uploaded cover image, notes, collections, favourite status, date saved, and the date you last opened the bookmark from STACKKK. STACKKK also stores your display and sound preferences.
1.2 Workspace. If you use Workspace, STACKKK also stores your boards and their names, notes (including formatted text, checklists and tables), references to saved bookmarks, attached images and PDF files, card positions and board views.
1.3 All of the information described in this section is stored locally in your browser profile.
2. SCREENSHOTS
2.1 STACKKK does not take a screenshot when you paste or save a link. A screenshot is taken only when you request one.
2.2 Capture & save takes an image of the visible area of the current tab.
2.3 Card capture opens the selected website in a separate, unfocused Chrome window. That window must remain open and must not be minimised while the page loads.
2.4 A screenshot records whatever is visible on the page at the time of capture. This may include content from accounts you are signed in to, messages, personal information or cookie notices. Please review what is visible on a page before capturing it, particularly where the page may contain sensitive information.
3. BROWSER PERMISSIONS
3.1 activeTab. STACKKK uses Chrome’s activeTab permission when you open the extension to capture the page you are currently viewing.
3.2 Access to all websites (optional). Card capture requires access to all websites, because Chrome requires this permission to capture a page in a separate window. This permission is requested only if you enable card capture, and it is used only when you click a capture button.
3.3 You may revoke this permission at any time in Settings & help → Guides → Website thumbnails, using Revoke card capture access. Revoking it does not delete any saved bookmarks. Capture & save from the extension popup remains available without this permission.
4. STORAGE AND SECURITY
4.1 Your library, boards and attachments are stored locally in IndexedDB within your Chrome profile. Preferences are stored in localStorage. Imports use temporary local database records until validation finishes. Exports use a temporary file in browser-managed local storage. These temporary records are cleaned up after use; interrupted import records are cleared when STACKKK next opens, and leftover export files older than a day are cleared on a later opening.
4.2 STACKKK does not sync your data to the cloud.
4.3 STACKKK does not add its own encryption or password protection. Anyone with access to your Chrome profile, or to a backup file you have exported, may be able to read its contents.
4.4 Browser storage space is limited. You should export a backup regularly and pay attention to any storage warnings.
5. NETWORK ACTIVITY
5.1 This version of STACKKK does not include analytics, advertising, cloud sync, a third-party screenshot service, or any server that receives your library.
5.2 STACKKK does not monitor your general browsing history. It stores the website addresses and titles you choose to save. When you open a bookmark through My Library, it records the date and time of its most recent opening to support the visited and not revisited filters. This information stays locally in your Chrome profile.
5.3 When you open or capture a website through STACKKK, your browser makes the usual requests to that website and its resources, using your existing Chrome session. Those websites are governed by their own privacy practices.
5.4 Optional support link. The “Buy me a coffee” button opens https://buymeacoffee.com/madebykeix in a new tab. STACKKK does not send your saved bookmarks, screenshots, notes, boards or attachments to Buy Me a Coffee. The external website makes its own normal browser requests, and information you provide there is subject to its privacy policy. STACKKK itself does not process payments or store payment details.
6. YOUR CONTROLS
6.1 Editing and deleting. You can edit or delete bookmarks in My Library.
6.2 Export. Export saves a JSON file containing your library and screenshots. STACKKK starts a normal browser download. The save location and whether you are asked where to save follow your Chrome download settings. Export does not request ongoing access to the downloaded file. This file is not encrypted, and you should store it securely.
6.3 Import. Import reads the file you select or drop into the library, which may be a STACKKK backup or a bookmarks export from your browser.
6.4 Workspace backups. Workspace has separate Export Workspace and Import Workspace controls. A Workspace backup includes your boards, note content, attachments and deleted boards. Importing a Workspace backup adds copies of the backed-up boards. Workspace data is not sent to any server.
6.5 Removing cards and boards. Removing a card from a board does not delete the original bookmark in My Library. Deleted boards remain in Deleted boards until you permanently delete them there. Permanent deletion requires confirmation and cannot be undone. After a card is removed, its attachment data may remain in local storage, including after the current session ends. This supports undo during the session; unused attachments are not automatically cleared when you close STACKKK.
7. DATA RETENTION
7.1 Your data remains stored until you delete it or until the extension’s storage is removed, subject to the retained attachments and recovery copies described in sections 6.5, 7.3 and 7.4.
7.2 Uninstalling the extension clears its local storage. Exported backup files are not affected and must be deleted separately if you no longer want them.
7.3 Recovery copy. If you used an earlier version of STACKKK, a copy of your Library as it existed before the upgrade is retained locally for recovery purposes. This copy is a snapshot taken at the time of the upgrade and is not updated afterwards. It is not a current backup, and deleting an item from your current library does not remove it from this copy.
7.4 Captures that were pending in earlier versions of STACKKK may also remain in storage.
8. HOW YOUR DATA IS USED
8.1 Your data is used solely to save, display and organise the bookmarks, previews, boards, notes and attachments you choose to keep.
8.2 STACKKK does not sell your data, use it for advertising, or send it to the publisher.
8.3 Because your data is stored locally, the publisher cannot recover a library that has been lost.
8.4 STACKKK uses information obtained through Chrome APIs in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.
