This is an opportunity for students to study half of the A-Level Specification. This course builds on the GCSE Specification and will stretch and challenge those students who have a strong interest in the field of computer science.
The AS qualification will consolidate theory learning for students in their GCSE and will give students a head start in their A level studies. The students also have the chance at banking UCAS points, giving them a head start at their university applications in the future. For more information on UCAS points (the university tariff point system) please visit the UCAS website. It is envisioned students will sit their final examinations in the summer term of Year 10.
Students must be studying GCSE Computer Science in order to undertake this qualification as the content will build upon the learning in the GCSE lessons week by week. Students will also need to meet with Mr Wells to ensure they understand what is expected and to prove they are ready for the challenge!
