Lectures

Main lectures:

The following are the topics that will be discussed at ST4 this year,

  • Assorted Topics in AdS3/CFT2 - Pinaki Banerjee (ICTS)
  • Open Quantum Field Theories - Chandan Kumar Jana (ICTS)
  • Bulk Reconstruction - Nirmalya Kajuri (CMI) and Ronak Soni (TIFR)
  • Gravitational Radiation and Charge in de Sitter Spacetimes - Jahanur Hoque, Aneesh P B (CMI)

Though a scheduled time period of three hours is dedicated to every lecture, there is no hard cut off on any lecture's length. The atmosphere will be informal, so that there are extensive discussions, cross-questioning and people walking up to the board to pose questions or to make their point and so on. Speakers should be able to accommodate such a dynamic setting. Lectures that engage the audience are especially welcome.

All lectures shall be blackboard lectures. We encourage the lecturers to prepare lecture notes for their courses, though it is not mandatory. In this regard, we would like to gradually achieve the benchmark set by Modave Summer School on Mathematical Physics. i.e., it will be great to have well-written lecture notes from the workshop appear on arXiv and be regularly referenced.

Evening lectures:

There will be slots in the evening for lectures by participants on their current research. These were quite popular last year as they allowed diverse topics, allowed for more involvement by participants and trained the participants to enjoy a long day with intensive discussions!

This is a good way to obtain feedback on something you have been thinking about or to test some nice way of presentation you have come up with. Evening lectures can also serve as a great way to start student collaborations. So be prepared with one, and we will fill in the slots on the first day of the workshop!
