PROGRAM OR CHARITY NOMINATION PROCEDURES below:[
-Program or charitable nominations are to be submitted IN WRITING to Janice Boland to the treasurer email - stpaulscwltreas@gmail.com or letter dropped into the CWL slot;
-All nominations need a brief description of the program/charity and reasons why we should support it.
- Ideas submitted early will be included in the subsequent newsletters. In the January 2024 newsletter, a recap of all nominations will be provided. The finalized charitable donation nominations can be viewed either in the January newsletter or by picking up a listing from the CWL slot in early January 2024.
*NO nominations for programs/charities will be accepted from the floor at the budget meeting*
PROGRAM OR CHARITY VOTING PROCEDURES
-At the budget meeting, the number of votes per member will be determined by the number of nominations to be voted on. Ex. If we have 20 nominations, members will receive 5 votes each. If we have 10 nominations, each member will receive 3 votes.
-If members feel strongly about a particular program/charity they may use all or a portion of their allotted votes on one charity.
-Once all votes are submitted and tallied, the results will be presented to all members in attendance.
-The 5 organizations that received the most votes will receive funds as follows:
Most votes = *40% of donation money,
Second most votes= *30% of donation money,
Third most votes= *15% of donation money,
Fourth most votes= *10% of donation money,
Fifth most votes= *5% of donation money,
*These percentages may be altered in case of a tie or to reflect the popular vote.
-In case of a tie, the percentages will be added together and divided by the number of tied positions.
Ex. Say the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions have the same number of votes. 30%+15%+10%= 55%. 55% divided by 3=18.33%. Therefore, the second, third and fourth organizations will each receive 18.3% of the donation money.
- In the case of one nomination receiving an overwhelming number of votes (popular vote).
Ex. We have 30 members present to vote, each with 3 votes = 90 votes. Say one organization receives 70 votes. This would indicate that this organization is very popular among our members.
