Dear Students
Pranam!
School life becomes truly meaningful when learning goes beyond books and classrooms. Every activity, celebration, and shared moment teaches us something valuable — teamwork, kindness, and respect for one another. It fills our hearts with pride to see you participate with such enthusiasm, whether on the field, on stage, or in the classroom.
This spirit of togetherness was beautifully reflected in the month of October, which brought us wonderful opportunities to collaborate with our parents and celebrate the sense of community we cherish at Salwan. Events like the Diwali celebrations and the Parent Sports Competition filled our campus with joy, unity, and shared purpose. Such moments remind us that when school and home work hand in hand, education flourishes in its truest sense. As we continue on this journey, we remain inspired by the vision of our revered Founder Chairman, Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Ji, whose ideals continue to illuminate our path.
His timeless motto, ‘Service Before Self,’ and his belief in ‘Education for All’ guide every effort we make to shape responsible and compassionate learners. He firmly believed that education must nurture both physical fitness and mental well-being, fostering balance and strength in every child.
In today’s world, where every challenge opens the door to new learning, we encourage you to grow into resilient young researchers—students who observe carefully, question fearlessly, and learn with curiosity and courage. Developing this spirit of resilience will help you adapt, innovate, and persevere, no matter what obstacles come your way.
Dear children, let us honour his vision by being thoughtful, sincere, and kind in all that we do. Together, with gratitude and determination, we pledge to carry forward his noble legacy with pride, purpose, and positivity.
Blessings!
Rashmi Malik, Principal
Theme: Resilient Researchers — The Spirit of Festivity and Inquiry
The month of October has been a remarkable blend of reflection, research, and rejoicing. As the festive season brought with it light, warmth, and renewal, our students demonstrated an equally radiant spirit through their curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learning.
At Salwan, we believe that every learner is a Resilient Researcher — one who observes keenly, questions thoughtfully, and perseveres in the pursuit of knowledge. This spirit was beautifully mirrored in the academic initiatives, cultural celebrations, and collaborative projects that filled our corridors with both festivity and intellectual energy.
Much like the triumph of good over evil that Dussehra signifies, and the light of wisdom that Diwali celebrates, our students continue to illuminate their paths with determination, critical thinking, and an undying quest to know more.
As we conclude this vibrant month, let us carry forward the essence of resilience — to rise, to reason, and to rediscover — in every challenge and celebration that lies ahead.

Special Assembly on Diwali by the Students of Grade 1
Standing beneath the innocent sky,
Hands drenched with melted ice creams.
Requests to go to bed we yet deny,
Still glancing the stars beam.
Nights were filled with whispered secrets,
Hiding behind the shushed drapes in the course of sunshine.
Living our life to its utmost and having nil regrets,
Swaying in the swings held tight by the pine.
Holding hands over meals as a shield from drifting apart,
Had quick gratitude for the itchy hot steam burnt our hands.
Our souls have stayed connected with each other’s heart,
From pinky promises to friendship bands.
Where’d all the time go?
It all flew so quick.
See how all the stars glow,
Turn to meteors and vanish with a flick.

The Black Pearl, was the fastest and the fiercest ship in the world. It belonged to the brave Captain Jack. Jack was a five-year old boy and the ship was his favorite toy. Jack enjoyed the most when he played with the ship in his tub.
Captain Jack sailed on the Black Pearl to many adventures across the seven seas. The winds blew up and waves smashed hard, but the Black Pearl endured all. Noble kings and princess from faraway lands would bow to Captain Jack and murderous pirates would tremble in fear as they heard the roar of the ship’s mighty canons. At the end of every adventure the ship would return home and be anchored in the toy box, awaiting a new adventure, the next day.
A toy ship lives forever, but little boys grow up and they replace their old toys with video games and mountain bikes. And so, one grey morning, Captain Jack did not come. Without its Captain, the mighty Black Pearl could not embark on a new voyage and sadly it remained anchored in its box.
Years went by and one day, unexpectedly, the box opened and light poured in, illuminating the Black Pearl once more. The ship saw a child beaming at it with a big smile. It was not Captain Jack, but looked very much like him. Then a young man appeared and said, “Son, this is the Black Pearl, the mightiest ship in the world. It was my favorite toy and now it is yours. The child was elated. The Black Pearl would be setting sail again, ready for a new adventure, with a new Captain.
The ship realized that the purpose of his existence was to make generations of children happy and that was the best feeling in the world.

Jagmohan was a successful entrepreneur who owned a small but growing restaurant. His secret to success was a special goose that laid one golden egg every day. Each morning, he sold the egg for a substantial profit, which he used to reinvest in his business—expanding the menu, hiring more staff, and improving the restaurant’s décor. His revenue grew steadily, and life seemed perfect.
However, as his success increased, so did his desires. Jagmohan began overspending on luxury cars, high-end electronics, and extravagant vacations. Confident that the golden eggs would always keep coming, he took on debt to fund his lavish lifestyle, believing the profits from the eggs would cover his growing expenses.
Over time, his impatience took over. "Why wait for one egg a day when I could have them all at once?" he thought. Driven by greed, Jagmohan killed the goose, hoping to find a nest full of golden eggs. But to his shock, the goose was just an ordinary bird with no eggs inside.
Without the steady income from the golden eggs, Jagmohan’s business began to collapse. His debts mounted, and his expenditures became unsustainable. Within months, his once-thriving restaurant shut down. Jagmohan was forced to sell off his luxury cars and assets, but it wasn’t enough to cover his debt.
Jagmohan learned a painful lesson: greed for quick profits can lead to devastating losses. Sustainable income requires wise investments, patience, and careful financial management.
