2026-2027
I’m Stephanie Mattingly, and I have been blessed to be part of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Preschool family for the past 11 years. Before joining St. Mark’s, I spent 12 years teaching third grade. With more than 20 years in education, I truly love helping children learn, grow, and discover the joy of learning in a loving, Christ-centered environment.
My husband Tim and I have two amazing children. Our daughter, Ashlyn, will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall, and our son, Harrison, is a rising ninth grader at Mooresville High School.
When I’m not at Preschool, you’ll usually find me enjoying a good book, relaxing by the pool, spending time with my family, or cheering on my kids in all of their activities. I feel incredibly thankful to be part of the St. Mark’s community and look forward to helping each child have a fun, memorable, and faith-filled preschool experience
2 Year Old Teachers
Hi! I’m Jessica Jennings. This is my third year at St. Mark’s Preschool, and I feel blessed to be part of this wonderful school family.
I am happily married to my husband, Matt, and together we have a beautifully blended family. I have three children—Grace (25), Will (20), and Ava (7)—and two wonderful bonus children, Ava (18) and Caden (16).
I love spending time with my family, cooking, shopping, and all holidays (especially Christmas) !
3 Year Old Teachers
Hello! My name is Jennie Matthews, and I am excited to begin my second year teaching a 3-year-old class at St. Mark’s Preschool.
Before joining the 3-year-old program, I served as a floater and substitute teacher at St. Mark’s. I also taught a 3-year-old class at The Goddard School, where my love for early childhood education continued to grow.
My husband and I have three children—Brody (13), Lylah (10), and Tegan (4)—who have all attended St. Mark’s Preschool. Our family loves staying active with sports, spending time together, and making memories at the beach, bowling, mini golf, and the movies.
Hi! I’m Brooke Philpott, and this is my 6th year at St. Mark’s and my 10th year as a preschool teacher. I absolutely love helping young children learn, grow, and build confidence throughout the school year.
My husband and I will celebrate 12 wonderful years of marriage this coming January. We have two amazing daughters, Peyton (11) and Mattison (9), who keep us busy with all of their activities and adventures. I love the beach, and all things Disney!
My name is Natalie Rog. My husband and I are originally from Georgia (Go Dawgs!) but we’ve called NC home since 2010. We have two wonderful children, Stella and Miller, who are in 8th and 7th grade at Selma Burke Middle School. I have been fortunate to teach at St. Mark’s Lutheran Preschool since 2019. I love the families I’ve met, the other teachers I work with, and of course, the little friends I’ve cared for in my classes over the years. This community is a really special place.
In my free time I like to read a good book, walk my dog, Ruby, watch football, or take a nap.
I look forward to another great year in the 3s. I can’t wait to meet your little ones and watch as they discover new things and learn more about the love of Jesus.
Hi, my name is Amber Hayes and I'm excited to start my third year at St. Mark's Preschool. My husband and I have two boys, Cameron (8) and Ian (6). Both attended St. Mark's Preschool so it holds a special place in my heart! As a family, we love going to the beach and cruising. As for myself, I'm a huge animal lover. We currently have one rescue cat named Zoey. I love shopping and iced coffee. I value quality time with my family and friends the most. I look forward to a great year of learning and getting to know everyone!
4 Year Old Teachers/TK
Hi! My name is Kari Major, and I have been blessed to teach at St. Mark’s Preschool for the past 12 years. Originally from Wisconsin, my family and I moved to Mooresville in 2010 and have loved calling it home ever since. I have been married to my husband Kevin for 24 years. We have four amazing children, and most of them were fortunate enough to attend St. Mark’s Preschool as well.
Our oldest son, Braeden, recently graduated from Catawba College with a degree in Business. During his time there, he kept us busy cheering him on as a member of the Catawba Indians baseball team.
Our son, Owen, is a junior at Appalachian State University, where he is studying Finance.
Our daughter, Addison, will be a freshman at Clemson University this fall and is excited to be a member of the Rally Cats Dance Team. Go Tigers!
Our youngest, Max, is a rising eighth grader at Selma Burke Middle School. He loves all things sports, especially baseball, football, and basketball.
When I’m not teaching at St. Mark’s, you’ll usually find me spending time with my busy family or coaching volleyball at Mooresville High School. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and relaxing by the pool.
I feel so grateful to be part of the St. Mark’s family and look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making special memories with your children!
Hi, I’m Melissa! I’m a preschool teacher, a mom of two amazing girls, and a lover of all things creative. I spend my days helping little learners grow and my free time making memories with my family through crafts, adventures, movies, and lots of laughter. Life isn’t always perfect, but it’s full of love, learning, and fun—and I’m excited to share a little bit of it with you!
I’m Tina McGinnis and I’m the Transitional Kindergarten teacher at St. Mark’s Lutheran Preschool. I’ve been with St. Mark’s for 26 years. I’m also the music teacher at St. Mark’s and this year will be by 21st year of teaching music.
My husband, Richard and I are natives to the area growing up in Huntersville. In September, we will be married for 35 years. We’ve lived in Mooresville since we got married and have raised our children here. We have two adult daughters, two great son-in-laws and an adorable granddaughter Mila, who is four years old.
When I’m not at school I enjoy reading and spending time with close friends and family. Being a Mimi to Mila is by far my all time favorite activity.
I’m grateful to have been a part of St. Mark’s for many years. I look forward to a wonderful year with your children.
