Professional Wood Interiors was founded in 1980 by Mr. David Portell.  Mr. Portell’s love for woodworking started in High school wood shop.  After wining several state woodworking awards at age 15 his family realized his ability to envision and build furniture that offers comfort and meaning to many.  We’re still family-owned and operated, committed to bringing our St. Louis neighbors the professional, trustworthy expertise they need in new kitchen & baths, custom book cases, and cabinet refacing. A Success In the Making

Persistence, long hours, and a large degree of inspiration helped us to get where we are today.  It would be interesting, perhaps, to tell you this thirty-year journey was a result of a grand plan, but that is not the case.  Rather, our journey has been a series of opportunities, what I call revealed possibilities that we took on.  Most lead to blind alleys and disappointment, but just enough succeeded so that we continued. Only in America, do we have a vast array of tools and opportunities to pursue our dreams, but it has been a great blessing for me to do what I love for so many years.
