“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” – Albert Einstein
It is with deep purpose and optimism that I present this edition of our school magazine, centred on the theme Skilful Curious Thinker: Kushal Jigyasu Vicharak. In education, we often emphasise discipline and diligence. However, the true force that gives learning meaning and vitality is jigyasa, the enduring desire to question, explore, and understand.
A classroom is not merely a space where information moves from textbook to notebook. It is a space where young minds encounter ideas, challenge assumptions, and shape understanding. A Kushal Jigyasu Vicharak represents this spirit. Such a learner does not stop at mastering a concept but seeks to understand the reasoning behind it. Skill enables competence, but curiosity transforms competence into insight. When skill and curiosity come together, learning becomes purposeful and dynamic.
The world today requires thoughtful individuals who are willing to examine the familiar from new perspectives and ask meaningful questions. It is curiosity that transforms students into innovators, readers into writers, and dreamers into responsible leaders.
My dear students, As you approach your final examinations, you stand at a moment that is both significant and challenging. It is natural to feel the weight of expectation and responsibility.
Yet, remember that examinations are milestones in a much larger journey of growth and self discovery. They assess preparation, not character, potential, or future possibilities.
During this period of revision, focus on understanding rather than anxiety. Choose clarity over memorisation and depth over speed. When you truly comprehend a concept, you develop intellectual independence, a quality far more valuable than any mark sheet. Let curiosity steady your mind and let disciplined effort strengthen your confidence.
Education extends far beyond grades. It shapes character, builds resilience, and nurtures integrity. The habits you cultivate now, focus, perseverance, honesty, and composure, will remain with you long after the examinations conclude. These are the qualities that define responsible citizens and thoughtful leaders.
Approach your examinations with calm confidence. Trust your preparation and believe in your ability to perform with sincerity. Above all, remember that you are far more than a result. You are individuals growing into your potential, guided by purpose and promise.
I wish you clarity of thought, steadiness of mind, and success that reflects your sincere effort.
With warm blessings and confidence in each one of you,
Ms. Rashmi Malik

Rekindling Curiosity, Renewing Purpose
January marked not merely the beginning of a new calendar year but a meaningful return to rhythm and responsibility after the winter break. As students re-entered the campus corridors with refreshed minds and renewed energy, the school community witnessed a quiet yet powerful resurgence of purpose. The classrooms, once still in winter pause, came alive again with dialogue, discipline, and discovery.
This edition of the newsletter, inspired by the theme Skilful Curious Thinker: Kushal Jigyasu Vicharak, celebrates the enduring spirit of curiosity that defines true education. Learning at Salwan Public School is never confined to textbooks or examinations. It is a living, evolving engagement with ideas, culture, discipline, creativity, and character. Skill provides direction, but curiosity provides meaning. Together, they shape thinkers who question, explore, and innovate.
The return from winter break was marked by vibrant participation across all sections of the school. Our youngest learners celebrated Vasant Panchami with devotion and joy, engaged in patriotic creative expressions, and continued their journey of emotional and spiritual growth through thoughtfully designed activities. Through CFSL sessions, reflective workshops, and classroom dialogues, students were guided towards mindfulness, empathy, and balanced digital habits.
For our senior students, particularly those of Grades X and XII, the month held deeper significance. As board examinations draw closer, the school ensured that academic preparation was accompanied by emotional resilience and spiritual grounding. The Hawan ceremony, conducted on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, offered students a moment of collective reflection and inner calm. The workshop on Mental Preparation for the Days Ahead further strengthened their confidence, reinforcing the importance of composure, clarity, and self-belief.
The Republic Day celebrations infused the campus with patriotic fervour and constitutional awareness. From the disciplined march past and band performance to the evocative cultural presentations and theatrical depiction of the Framers of the Constitution, students honoured the democratic ideals that guide our nation. Sporting excellence too found expression through the Inter-House Football Competition, state and national level shooting achievements, and participation in district and national tournaments.
Cultural enrichment continued through the mesmerising Pung Cholom performance organised in collaboration with SPIC MACAY. The rhythmic devotion and artistic precision of the artistes provided students with a rare encounter with India’s living heritage. Simultaneously, academic curiosity extended beyond campus walls as students visited the Rajya Stariya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshini, engaging with scientific inquiry and innovation firsthand.
January thus stood as a bridge between reflection and action, between pause and progress. It reminded us that education flourishes when curiosity is nurtured alongside discipline, when performance is balanced with purpose, and when achievement is grounded in character.
As our board aspirants prepare to step into examination halls, we reiterate a simple yet powerful belief: examinations assess preparation, but they do not define potential. True education shapes the mind, strengthens resilience, and refines integrity. The habits cultivated today will endure far beyond report cards and results.
With renewed energy after the winter recess and steadfast determination in the months ahead, the Salwan community moves forward with clarity, confidence, and collective hope.
Forward in spirit, grounded in purpose.

Salwan Public School, Gurugram, hosted a teachers’ workshop titled Holistic Harmony: Integrating All Parts of Being on 12 January 2026, organised by the Sri Aurobindo Society. The session invited educators to engage with harmony not as an abstract ideal but as a conscious way of living and teaching.
Anchored in the thought of Sri Aurobindo, the workshop reaffirmed that “true harmony is the balanced development of the body, life, mind and the inner being.” Under the guidance of the resource person, Ms Benu Mittal, participants reflected on education as a discipline that nurtures the fullness of the human personality.
The programme opened with grounding practices that fostered bodily awareness and attentive stillness, followed by reflective activities that encouraged emotional clarity and mindful thought. Through dialogue and shared reflection, teachers examined the physical, vital, mental, and spiritual dimensions of the self, while acknowledging everyday habits that fragment inner balance.
A central insight of the workshop was that harmony often emerges through a shift in perception rather than circumstance. Simple practices such as silence, gratitude, and conscious breathing were presented as quiet yet enduring pathways to inner equilibrium. In the words of The Mother, “the first step to a harmonious life is to know one’s own being and its inner truth.”
The session concluded with collective reflection and a shared pledge, leaving participants with a renewed understanding that harmony is cultivated through awareness, consistency, and self-knowledge.

Time flies,
But memories stay by
People go
But things stay by
Time we wished would go by fast
Is often missed and reminisced about
Just yesterday school started
ABC’s, polygons constitution
Now its the end of institution
Many friends were made
Many enemies too
Many memories made on the way
Many exams
Many feelings
But not much time
“You have to be the first” they said
Not knowing I gave everything
Life is fun
Life is hard
Life is confusing
But one thing is certain
Time goes by
But memories stay by
-Shruti Jhamb, XI-B
The sun ascends — a quest anew,
Each day unfolds with something true.
My thoughts, my questions, all my own,
In every doubt, a seed is sown.
A stumble brings a hidden spark,
A moment lost becomes a mark.
Mistakes return with quiet grace,
Each one a lesson we must face.
No fear of failure holds me still,
Each slip refines my strength and will.
I learn, I grow, I rise once more,
Each effort opens a new door.
The world’s a guide, so vast and wise,
With learning seen through open eyes.
Each day reveals a truth to me—
A step toward who I’m meant to be.
