Quick facts about St. Catherine of Alexandria
She was the daughter of the governor of Alexandria, Egypt in the third century after Christ and was known for her intelligence and beauty. She converted to Christianity and during a time of persecution not only refused to reject Christ, but defended the faith in word and deed. She received her the crown of martyrdom in 305 AD.
Her feast day is November 25. She is also one of the fourteen Holy Helpers whose feast day is August 8.
