SSWG Resources Database

About this site

This website is a directory of resources curated for students and recent graduates - including career and funding databases, recommended conferences and email list-servs, journal articles to introduce you to using the social sciences, and educational resources such as books and curricula.

Resources are listed in shared Google Sheets on each Topical page, with pdfs, if available.

Submit

Anyone can submit a resource to a relevant section - the strength of this compendium is it’s crowdsourced nature! Our stipulation is that all resources living on the site (i.e., in the central Google Drive folder) must be open access. Otherwise, we include a link to where the resource (e.g. book or journal) can be found.

Request

If you are looking for a resource that isn't on the site, please visit our Google Group discussion forum to place a request! Then, a member of the SSWG team OR other visitor to the site will do their best to track down what you're looking for.

The Social Science Working Group Student Activities Committee (SSWG STAC)

The SSWG Student Resources website is moderated by the SSWG STAC, of the Society for Conservation Biology. This group, largely composed of graduate students, seeks to organize opportunities for students and recent graduates to share their research, network with other students and professionals, and learn from professionals in the field.

Please visit the SSWG website to learn more about our group, including how to get involved and our upcoming events: https://conbio.org/groups/working-groups/social-science/about-us/committees (‘Student Affairs’)
