Below is the Club Constitution, realize that it is just paper, and it is subject to change.
Article 1
Tabletop RPG Club
Article 2
The purpose of the TableTop RPG club is to facilitate new friendships and to build a community based around new and classic tabletop games. This club hopes to allow those who want to meet others with similar interests create a community of like-minded individuals. The club will provide access to different gaming groups, as well as fun club activities.
Article 3
Membership in the organization shall be open to all regularly enrolled Sonoma State University students. There shall be no other requirements for admission to regular membership. Each regular member has equal rights and privileges.
This organization shall have associated members who are non-Sonoma State University students. Associated members shall have all membership privileges except for the right to vote or hold office. By California State University policy, no more than 20 percent of the membership shall be individuals who are not CSU students (e.g., faculty, staff, community members, students at other colleges, etc.
Eligibility for membership, or appointed or elected student officer positions shall not be limited on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, color, age, gender, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or disability. The organization shall have no rules or policies that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, color, age, gender, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or disability.
Article 4
Only currently enrolled or continuing students in good standing at Sonoma State University may serve as Officers of this organization. The Officers shall be: President and Treasurer. The officers will consist of President, Vice President, and Treasurer
Elections for officers will consist of a vote for each standing position and whoever gets a majority vote (51%) will be assigned that position. Elections will be held at the last meeting of the spring semester.
Article 5
Organization presidents and treasurers must be enrolled at SSU and earn a minimum of 6 semester units for undergraduate students or 3 semester units for graduate/credential students per term while holding office and must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average. In addition, the president and treasurer may not have earned 150 units or 125% of the total units needed for graduation, whichever is higher.
President: Plan when and where meeting dates will occur. Plan activities to happen at each meeting. Assist those running games to create a fun and friendly environment.
Vice President: Assist in presidential duties when asked. Assist those running games to create a fun and friendly environment.
Treasurer: Plan fundraising events and plans were raised money should go. Assist those running games to create a fun and friendly environment.
Article 6
All complaints alleging violations of the Student Conduct Code, Title 5, section 41301, et seq., shall be investigated pursuant to Executive Order 1073 and/or 1074 (in cases involving allegations of unlawful discrimination, harassment or retaliation based on protected status). Investigations and other proceedings under Executive Orders 1073 and 1074 shall be conducted by campus administration, not student organizations, and this organization shall refer any complaints alleging subject matters covered by Executive Orders 1073 and 1074 to the campus Vice President for Student Affairs or other designee for investigation and resolution.
Article 7
This club does not have committees
Article 8
The regular meetings will be held once every other week throughout the academic year, excluding breaks and finals week. They will be held on campus unless voted on by the majority of the club members. Emergency officer meetings may be called by any of the officers.
Article 9
There will be no membership fees for this club. This club will occasionally fundraise and use those funds to put towards meeting activities as well as books needed to run the table top games.
Article 10
The advisor should be enthused by the tabletop club and be willing to assist the officers in their duties.
An advisor should, Be available to those who need their assistance in the club, Assist the leadership (old and new) to continue the club’s operation, Be able to step back and allow the student officers to run the club, Annually meet with officers to assure smooth club operation, assist in the creation/renewal of the club's constitution.
At that annual meeting officers and the advisor should create a list of mutual expectations.
Article 11
To amend the constitution it must achieve a ⅔ majority vote by all club members. A tie will be broken by the officer’s votes.
The amended constitution/bylaws must be approved by and kept in file with the Student Involvement.
