100% Privacy Focused: No analytics trackers, no advertising SDKs, and zero data collection. All processing happens entirely on your phone.
Grant Permissions:
Launch the app and grant the requested Nearby Devices (Bluetooth) and Notifications permissions. These are required by Android to detect peripherals and maintain background monitoring.
Disable Battery Optimization (Crucial):
Tap the built-in System Health Checker on the main screen to exclude the app from aggressive Android battery saving. Setting background usage to Unrestricted ensures the widget never freezes when your screen is locked.
Add the Widget to Home Screen:
Touch and hold any empty area on your Home Screen; tap Widgets, select Bluetooth Monitor Widget and drag it to your desired spot.
How it Works:
The widget automatically detects and displays your currently connected Bluetooth accessory. Whenever a new device connects, the widget updates automatically.
Activate Lifetime PRO:
Open the app settings and tap Upgrade to PRO. Complete the secure one-time checkout via Google Play. Your license is permanently tied to your Google account across all your devices.
Multi-Device Live Overview:
Once upgraded, your home screen widget expands to display all connected Bluetooth devices at the same time, showing individual battery percentage levels for each compatible device.
Configure Smart Battery Alerts:
Navigate to Settings / Battery Alerts:
Enable notifications to receive proactive warnings before your accessories run out of power.
Customize your alert thresholds (e.g., Warning alert at 20%, Critical alert at 10%).
Exclude Unwanted Peripherals (Device Filtering):
If you connect accessories you don't need to monitor (such as car audio systems or smart bands), head to Device Filter and toggle them off so they won't clutter your widget list.
Personalize the Appearance:
Go to Settings / Theme to switch between Clean Light, Deep Dark, or automatic System Default modes.
APP PERMISSIONS AND SYSTEM SETTINGS: MANDATORY VS. OPTIONAL
Bluetooth Monitor Widget is engineered with a strict privacy-first architecture. The application operates 100% offline, contains no advertising or third-party tracking libraries, and never collects, transmits, or shares personal data.
To ensure transparency, here is the detailed breakdown of all system permissions and settings, categorized by necessity, along with the exact consequences if they are denied or restricted:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (Essential for Core Operation)
Without these permissions and system states, the application cannot communicate with Bluetooth hardware and the widget cannot function.
Nearby Devices / Bluetooth Access (BLUETOOTH_CONNECT)
Operating system: Android 12 (API 31) and higher.
Status: Mandatory.
How it is used: Allows the app to detect connection and disconnection events of paired Bluetooth accessories and securely read their reported battery levels.
Privacy protection: The app strictly queries accessories already paired with your phone. It never performs discovery scans to search for external or unauthorized devices.
Consequences if denied: Core functionality will fail completely. The home screen widget will remain empty or show a permanent disconnected status, and the app will be unable to read or display battery percentages.
Bluetooth Radio / Hardware Adapter State
Operating system: All Android versions (verified in Settings and System Health Checker).
Status: Mandatory hardware requirement.
How it is used: Checks whether your smartphone's Bluetooth antenna is currently switched on.
Privacy protection: This is an internal hardware check; no data is collected or logged.
Consequences if disabled: Communication with your accessories is physically impossible. The app and widget will display an alert prompting you to turn on Bluetooth; no peripheral tracking will occur until it is enabled.
Foreground Service for Connected Devices (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE)
Operating system: Android 14 (API 34) and higher.
Status: Mandatory system declaration.
How it is used: Keeps the background event listener registered while accessories are connected, ensuring widget updates are received immediately even when the screen is locked.
Privacy protection: Operates entirely locally and responds exclusively to system broadcast events.
Consequences if restricted: Android 14 will terminate background listeners when the screen turns off. The widget will freeze and fail to update in real time when battery levels drop or when devices disconnect.
Location Access (Legacy Android Versions Only)
Operating system: Android 11 (API 30) and earlier releases only.
Status: Mandatory for legacy devices only.
How it is used: On older Android versions, Bluetooth hardware access was grouped by the operating system under location permissions.
Privacy protection: Bluetooth Monitor Widget never accesses GPS hardware, never reads geographical coordinates, and never logs location data.
Consequences if denied (Android 11 and below only): The operating system will block access to the Bluetooth adapter entirely. The app will not be able to detect any connected accessories. (This permission is neither requested nor needed on Android 12 and above).
OPTIONAL PERMISSIONS AND SETTINGS (Feature-Specific or Reliability)
Denying these will not break basic widget display, but will disable proactive alerts or cause update delays when Android applies power-saving measures.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Operating system: Android 13 (API 33) and higher.
Status: Optional.
How it is used: Delivers proactive alert notifications when your connected accessories reach your custom low-battery thresholds (Warning and Critical levels), and displays an optional persistent monitor notification to keep background updates stable.
Privacy protection: Notifications are strictly local and functional. No promotional messages, ads, or marketing alerts are ever sent.
Consequences if denied: You will not receive any sound or banner warnings before your accessories run out of battery. On certain devices, the background monitor may also be stopped more frequently by Android, leading to delayed widget updates.
Battery Optimization / Unrestricted Background Access
Operating system: All Android versions (verified in Settings and System Health Checker).
Status: Strongly Recommended.
How it is used: Prevents Android from putting the widget update process into deep sleep (Doze mode) when the phone screen is turned off.
Privacy protection: Uses passive event listening to keep battery consumption minimal without tracking.
Consequences if not set to Unrestricted: Device manufacturers with aggressive battery managers (such as Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Huawei) will freeze the application shortly after the screen locks. The widget will display stale battery percentages and will fail to register disconnections until you unlock the screen or open the app.
App Hibernation / Remove Permissions if Unused
Operating system: Android 11 (API 30) and higher.
Status: Strongly Recommended.
How it is used: Prevents Android from automatically revoking core permissions and stopping background services if you don't actively open the app's main screen for a few months (since widgets are interacted with from the home screen).
Privacy protection: The app strictly uses permissions locally to monitor your paired accessories and never tracks your app usage habits.
Consequences if enabled: If Android hibernates the app, the widget will suddenly freeze, stop updating, and lose access to Bluetooth data until you manually open the app again to wake it up and re-grant permissions.
Autostart / OEM Background Execution
Operating system: Varies by manufacturer (especially required on Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung).
Status: Strongly Recommended (Device specific).
How it is used: Allows the application to automatically restart its background listener after you reboot your phone, install an app update, or clear your "recent apps" list.
Privacy protection: The background process is exclusively tied to Bluetooth connection events and does not collect, log, or transmit any background data.
Consequences if disabled: On devices with aggressive custom task killers, the widget will remain completely frozen after a phone reboot or after swiping the app away from recent tasks. You will be forced to manually launch the app every time to resume monitoring.
Google Play In-App Billing (BILLING)
Operating system: All Android versions.
Status: Optional.
How it is used: Enables secure, one-time transactions through Google Play to unlock the Lifetime PRO license or send voluntary developer support tips.
Privacy protection: All payment processing is handled directly and securely by Google Play. The app never accesses, sees, or stores your payment details or financial records.
Consequences if unavailable or not used: You will not be able to purchase the Lifetime PRO upgrade, restore previous purchases on a new phone, or send developer tips. All standard Free version widget features will continue to work normally and indefinitely with zero ads.

Q: Why is the battery percentage missing for some of my Bluetooth devices?
A: The ability to read battery levels depends strictly on the hardware capabilities and Bluetooth profile (Hands-Free Profile / HFP or A2DP) of the connected accessory. While modern headphones, earbuds, and speakers broadcast battery status, some legacy or budget devices do not support battery reporting to Android.
Q: The widget stopped updating in the background. How can I fix this?
A: Certain smartphone manufacturers (e.g., Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus) aggressively kill background processes to conserve power. Open the app, tap the System Health Checker, and ensure that Battery Optimization is set to "Unrestricted" / "No restrictions". Also verify that background activity is allowed in your phone’s system settings.
Q: Is the PRO license a recurring subscription or a one-time purchase?
A: It is a 100% one-time lifetime purchase. There are no monthly fees, hidden renewals, or recurring charges. Once purchased, you own it forever.
Q: How do I restore my PRO purchase on a new phone?
A: Your purchase is automatically managed and verified by Google Play. Simply log into the new device with the same Google account used for the purchase, install Bluetooth Monitor Widget, and your PRO status will restore automatically. If needed, tap "Restore Purchases" in the app menu.
