About our class
Our Spanish class is intended to be an exploratory class that is a fun and engaging introduction to the Spanish language and culture. Students will have a chance to learn the basics of Spanish, including common prayers, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and simple dialogues. In addition, students will explore the history, culture, and customs of Spanish speaking countries through various activities, crafts, projects, music, novels, and games.
I strive to provide a fun learning experience that encourages our students to explore their curiosity about Spanish-speaking cultures. In our middle school classes, we also want to help students gain a solid foundation for any future high school level Spanish classes they may choose to take.
About me
I am so excited to be teaching Spanish again this year! My husband and I have five busy kids, all of whom currently attend or graduated from SSM. I have worked at SSM for 4 years as a sub, TA, and teacher. Before that, I was a stay at home mom, and before that, I was an attorney. In college, I studied many different subject areas, including biomedical science, English, Spanish, education, and justice studies. I have always loved the Spanish language and the beautiful cultures of Spanish speaking countries. I hope I can share this with all of my students and help them on their way to becoming confident and proficient Spanish speakers.
