Introduction of Library
Right from its establishment in 2003, S.S.M.Society's Law College Library started its service in the year 2003. From the same year all the students have been given open access to books so that they can see, read and then issue the books for home reading. Students can also issue separate books & magazines for reading in the Reading Hall as a "Reference Service". All library functions have been partially automated with Libman Software. Journals and Magazines are purchased for library users in every Academic year as per the suggestions from the students and the staff. Our Library is the backbone of the college and it is a place for in the words of S.R. Rangnathan, “Provide Right Information at the Right Time, in the Right Place, in the Right Way to the Right Person”.
Shri Shivaji Maratha Society’s Law College Library is the most lively place in the college that enables learning & advancement of knowledge. It had been methodically developed the collection of books and journals right from inception. It is rich in collections which consist of Text books, Reference books, Journals, Legal Magazines, General books, etc. The Library operations are automated using ERP Library and Information Management Software, namely, LIBMAN. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables the library users to search the book database by Title, Author and Publication etc. Library conducts extension services like Book Exhibition, Orientation Programs for new users. The Library has a rich collection of 6519 reference books and text books. It also has subscription of 06 daily newspapers of state and national level in Marathi and English.
Library is administered by the Librarian. Library Advisory Committee ensures proper administration of the library.

Provide current library materials and databases that support the academic curriculum
Educate and assist college students and staff in the identification and effective use of information resources
To give timely and quality services and information to students & teachers.
To assist the students & teachers in upgrading their knowledge in making proper use of Library resources like books, journals, e-books.
To avail textbooks, reference books

Rules for Membership
All the users need to be members of the library to avail the facility.
For library membership, students should produce the fee receipt of the current year against which they will be given a library card to avail the library book borrowing facility.
Staff members should fill up the Library borrower register for using the library facility.
Users are requested to issue the books from the library as per the rules only.
Late fine is charged for Late Return of the books.
The users should return the books, borrowed from the Library in good condition.
Computers are placed in the library for using OPAC and accessing the resources for academic and research work.
Only bonafide students are entitled to claim the refund of library deposit after submitting the library deposit receipt.
Major Activities of the Section are:
Issue and returns of reading materials (Primarily Books)
Attending the Users’ query for effective interpretation of library rules and regulations
Registration of new Library Members
Operation of “Circulation Module” of Libman Software.
Maintenance and updating of all data related to users at Circulation desk
Correspondence / No Dues issuing
Assisting the users to access OPAC
Collaboration with other Libraries:
