List of mandatory Lab experiments using MATLAB

  1. Introduction to MATLAB covering Relational Operators, Loops & Functions, Matrix Operations & Plotting.

  2. Exercises on understanding complex numbers, Tylor’s and Euler’s series, finding the roots of linear system equations.

  3. Loading and printing/playing/displaying multimedia files.

  4. Construction of elementary signals, operations on those signals and synthesizing some deterministic signals using them.

  5. Periodic signals and synthesis of signals using Fourier series

  6. Fourier transforms

  7. Study of sampling theorem in time & frequency domains, reconstruction and rate conversion

  8. Determining the transfer functions of analog filters using Laplace transforms and their analysis using pole-zero plots

  1. Understanding z-transforms

  2. Convolution on Continuous-Time Signals with an application of smoothing some noisy speech or any one-dimensional real signal (data file are to be provided)

  3. Counting, Sampling, and Games in MATLAB

  4. Generation and determining the density of standard random variables

  5. The Bernoulli Experiment and the Distributions it Generates

  6. Generation of an arbitrary random variable

  7. The Bivariate Normal Experiment and the Classical Distributions it Generates

  8. Determination of statistics of random variables
