Institute Administrative Activities
Institute Responsibilities
1. Institute Ranking coordinator. (Since September 2022)
a. Convene the Ranking committee meeting and discuss the possible good practices to improve the institute ranking in NIRF, ARIAA and QS.
b. Oversee the data collection from various sections and check the data correctness before reporting on the Ranking Portals.
2. Nodal officer for QS ranking and NIRF ranking (since August 2020).
a. Oversee the data collection from various sections and check the data correctness before reporting on the Ranking Portals.
b. Perform data analysis and support the institute along with the ARIAA ranking team with suggestions towards good practices for the benefit of institute
3. Member of Institute Innovation Council (IIC) (since March 2021)
a. Attend quarterly IIC review meeting and provide suggestion required from the institute ranking perspective.
4. Member of Institute Research Advisory Council (RAC) (since September 2022)
a. Review the various Sponsored Research and Consultancy (SRC) related issues
b. Debate and provide the inputs for good practices towards growth of research vibrancy.
c. Contributed towards the idea of SURE (institute sponsored internships), part of the SRC new website team, and the team to discuss the skeletal framework on how to utilize the Research Center Complex (RCC).
5. Member of Institute Library Advisory Committee (LAC) (since December 2022)
a. Part of this as a representative of Department of Climate Change.
b. Contribute towards various policies to strengthen the best library related practices.
c. Provide skeletal framework towards utilization of the upcoming Knowledge center.
6. Member of Senate Undergraduate Committee (SUGC) (since September 2020)
a. Present the various UG level (BTEch EP) agenda points for the approval of the Senate.
b. The various points include obtaining approvals for new courses, change in curriculum, policy related issue etc.
7. Institute Representative for conducting GATE and JEE exams (every year since 2015).
8. Center vetting team for GATE and JEE exams (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022)

Departmental Responsibilities
10. Convenor DUGC, Physics (since August 2020)
a. DUGC is a decision-making body constituted to help the Head of the Department in order to run the UG program smoothly. As a convenor, my reposibilities include convening the DUGC meetings, provide approvals for UG students academic related requests, checking the validity of the requests.
b. As the major part of my tenure is during the COVID, the DUGC has contributed a lot in terms of making suitable adjustments for moving the teaching program online, oversee the lab experiments video recordings, adjust the curriculum to accommodate the requirement of hybrid mode of teaching etc.
c. Oversee the smooth transition of teaching program from fractal (1+2 credits) the standard 3-credit program. Finding solutions to various logistical challenges during this trasnsition.
d. Additionally, I have also contributed towards the teaching allotment exercise over last three years.
11. Member of DUGC, Physics (2018-2020)
a. Aid in the various UG level policies.
b. An important contribution during this period is in the development of curriculum for the 3 credit program in place of the existing fractal structure.
12. Placement coordinator
a. Physics Department (since 2018)
Streamlined the Placement and Internship activity of the students.
Created a process where every batch has a dedicated Placement Volunteer starting from second year EP.
Once in a semester interaction with all the placement coordinators and identify the key strengths of each graduating batch and targeting the correct job market.
There is visible increase in the graduate overcomes for each batach starting from 2018 with the best results for 2021 and 2022 graduating batches which saw 100% placements for those who have registered for placement.
b. MTech Energy Science and Technology (since 2022)
Targeted energy related job market. 90% placement achieved (for those who have registered for placement)
13. Member DPGC, Physics (since 2021)
a. Aid in the various PG level policies.
14. Department representative for development of Course Booklet (since 2019)
a. A dedicated effort to create and update the bookelet containing all the department courses to be uploaded on the IITH website.
b. This activity still continues, and we update the course contents details every year.
15. Department Seminar series in charge (2015-2017).
16. Part of various Doctoral Committee and many departments related activities like faculty selection shortlisting, PhD student shortlisting etc.
