The Salt Spring Island Scottish Country Dance Club were proud to offer Honorary Memberships to Harvey and Laura for their many years of service to the club. Harvey and Laura frequently hosted visiting musicians and teachers, graciously providing 'a home away from home'. These two long-time SSISCD members played key roles in two highly successful Simply Scottish Events. Many new members joined the club on Harvey and Laura's recommendation. Our annual Burns Night Dinner and Dance benefited greatly from the Moore's involvement and support. Additionally, Laura and Harvey represented our Scottish Dance Club with style and grace at many off-island events.
Harvey was responsible for providing the club with many things including our logo, various banners, flags, a carpet for outdoors dancing. Laura used her community contacts to promote the club and find accommodation for visitors to our special events. Their home hosted many after parties.
They are both worthy Honorary Members.
When Harvey and Laura Moore celebrated their 6oth wedding anniversary. Catherine Bennett devised the dance 'Moore's Fly Past' as a tribute to all they have done for both SCD and the greater community at large.
