First Season 2009

The history of the SSFFL go as far back to 2006, but the official start of the SSFFL began in 2009. The league only consisted of 4 teams; Purple Parrots, Kardynal FC, The Bang That's and the Chitown Champs. The league's first season witnessed the Purple Parrots take the crown with a 334-288 victory over Kardynal FC. The first season was also on a W,L,T basis.

Second Season 2010

The second season of the SSFFL seen massive expansion which more than doubled the size of the league to 9. Expansion teams included Hey FOO!!! (? idk either) Lions beatn da bears, Gorons, Gift Rappers, and Hungry Hungry Hippo which did not actually play and just turned into an easy weekly win. The 2010 season was strictly point based due to an odd number of players. This was also the first time a draft took place at an outside location at Buffalo Wild Wings Chicago Ridge.

The championship was between Kardynal FC and Hey FOO!!! where Kardynal FC upset the top seeded Hey FOO!!!

Third Season 2011

The league's 3rd season will begin later than usual due to the NFL lockout.The league also opened up space for 2 more expansion teams; Greased Lightning and The Calvary Guardians.The Bang That's are now Thee Hiiipowers and The Gift Rappers are now The Bullies. The league is now at 10 teams up from 9* last season with the Hungry Hungry Hippo's not welcomed back. The draft will take place Friday September 2nd at Buffalo Wild Wings Chicago Ridge for the 2nd year in a row with Hey FOO!!! O_o holding the 1st overall pick. The Lions defeated KARDYNAL FC in the 3rd SSFFL Championship game. The Lions also upset Thee Hiipowers en route to the title. Here are the final standings from the 2011 season.

Fourth Season 2012

The league's 4th season will begin with the draft at Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday September 3rd, 2012. Week 1 begins 2 days later on September 5th. The defending champion Lions hold the #1 overall pick, followed by the Purple Parrots, and the Bullies rounding out the top 3.

The regular season finished with Hey Foo being the highest scoring team and the top seed headed into the playoffs, scoring almost 400 more points than second highest calvary guardians. Reigning champion Lions missed the playoffs along with the bullies and the hiipowers who both made it the past season. The playoffs seen upsets all around and for the first time a #1 seed didn't make it into the championship game. The championship game seen for the first time two teams that didn't have a first round bye with (3) calvary guardians taking on (5) Kardynal fc. Kardynal FC defeated Calvary Guardians 235.45-206.65 in the championship. Reigning champion Lions finished last. Final standings for the season.

Fifth Season 2013

The league's 5th season will begin with the draft at Buffalo Wild Wings Tinley Park on Sunday August 25th, 2013. The draft has the 1st pick overall being held by the Ducks. This season also sees the Bullies becoming the Psychedelic Sloths. This marks the 3rd time this franchise has changed names. In celebration of the SSFFL's 5th season a trophy will be awarded to the league champion in addition to the champion banner.

The regular season finished with Kardynal FC and the Purple Parrots getting 1st round byes. The Hiipowers squeaked in on the last day of the regular season due to a season low game from Pierre Thomas. In the playoffs, the Lions upset the 2 seeded Purple Parrots on their way to their 2nd title game in 3 seasons for a rematch against top seeded Kardynal FC. Kardynal FC pulled out the win late with 2 big games from LeSean McCoy and Roddy White. This marked the first time a 1 seed has won the title and the first time a champion has repeated. This season also marked the first time a team went winless in the regular season, but winning both consolation games to finish 7th. Final Standings are listed below...

Sixth Season 2014

The league's sixth season began with the annual draft hosted by the Purple Parrots. During the offseason, the Psychedelic Sloths changed ownership and reverted back to the Gift Rappers after a 4 year hiatus. After finishing the prior season without a single victory, the Chitown Champs advanced to their first ever title game before falling to Kardynal FC. The Purple Parrots began the season 0-7 and managed to win 6 straight while winning the divisional playoff game against the Hiipowers. 2014 also marked the first time Grease Lightning advanced to the postseason and was the first time Hey Foo failed to reach the post season. The 2014 season was the first for Big Bang FC and the final for the Calvary Guardians. Final Standings are listed below...

Seventh Season 2015

The league's seventh season started with the annual draft, this time hosted by Grease Lightning. The Gift Rappers made their return in 2015, with that being the only franchise move in 2015. For the first time in SSFFL history, a title game didn't include Kardynal FC. While they finished with a league best 10-3 record, they were eliminated in the 2nd round by Big Bang FC. The title game was won for the first time by the Chitown Champs over Big Bang FC in a close matchup 175.40 to 165.55. During the offseason, Hey Foo changed their name to Chloe's Heroes. The 2016 draft will take place Saturday, August 13th at the Club Quarters Hotel South Loop, with the Chitown Champs holding the first overall pick. Final Standings are listed below...

Eight Season 2016

The league's eight season started with a special draft at the Club Quarters Hotel in downtown Chicago's south loop. The first overall pick was held by the Chitown Champs. This marked the final season for the Gift Rappers, as they decided to retire from the SSFFL. They did not have a trip to the playoffs this season. Chloe's Heroes was able to come away with their first title as they took down the Chitown Champs 236.60 to 173.55. This marked the 3rd consecutive season the Chitown Champs made it to the title game, but has only resulted in 1 title of their own. Final Standings are listed below...

Ninth Season 2017

The league's ninth season begin with the drafted hosted for the second time by Grease Lightning. Former manager of the Calvary Guardians took the place of the Gift Rappers by rejoining the league as the new & improved team that called themselves The Thunder Stags. Perhaps one of the longest drafts in history, it was by far one of the most memorable to this day due to the infinite shots, shot picks, & music played all night long. The Purple Parrots finished the season as a top seed for the second straight season & defeated Kardynal FC 169.35 to 128.85 in the championship game to win their second title in the SSFFL. It is worth mentioning this year was the Kardynal FC 9th consecutive trip to the SSFFL playoffs as a top seed with the 1st round bye. What an amazing run it has been for the Kardynal FC thus far. Tenth Season 2018

The league's tenth annual season begin with yet another special draft located at Tom's Tap on the south side of Chicago. The league added the Springfield Wildcats who took the place of Grease Lightning for 1 season. This also happened to mark the final season for the Detroit Lions in the SSFFL. The first overall pick was held by the Thunder Stags in which they happened to select LeVeon Bell who also happened to be the biggest bust that season. The Purple Parrots made a last minute surprising trade with the Detroit Lions to give them overall #3 pick in which they selected Todd Gurley, who happened to be the best fantasy football player that season. It did not, however, lead them to another title. That honor was achieved by Big Bang FC when they took down The HiiPowers 158.55 to 152.65. With a miraculous turn around this season from last, where Big Bang FC finished dead last, this marked HiiPowers first trip the title game & Big Bang FC 2nd trip. It was the 1st title win for Big Bang FC since joining the SSFFL in 2014. Final Standings are listed below...

Eleventh Season 2019

The league's eleventh season was definitely one to remember. Grease Lightning rejoined the SSFFL after a 1 year hiatus taking the place of the Detroit Lions. The league's standard format of head-to-head changed to overall points. In their return, Grease Lightning not only hosted the draft for the second time ever, but they also held the #1 overall draft pick in which they shocked the world by selecting Philip Lindsey. 1st place in the standings as well as 1st place overall at seasons end was accomplished by Thunder Stags. Although they were crowned champs, it was not an easy path. They squeaked by the Purple Parrots in the semi final match as they managed to win by a margin of .10 points. They went on to defeat the HiiPowers in the title game to take home their first championship since becoming a member of the SSFFL back in 2011 as the Calvary Guardians. The HiiPowers have remained consistent with consecutive playoff births & championship appearances, but have fell short 2 years in a row now. They now look to the future season of 2020 in hopes of winning a title. Final standings below...

Twelfth Season 2020

The league's twelfth & most recent season began with a late August draft at the residence of Thunder Stags. The 2020 season was definitely one to remember because of the coronavirus which happened to be a world-wide pandemic. The NFL season started on time, but it faced a serious hiccup in week 3 when several members of the Tennessee Titans tested positive for the virus. Games were pushed back, moved forward, and readjusted to work around schedule and prevent a bigger outbreak from occurring. In the end the NFL prevailed by finishing the season & a fantasy football champion was crowned. The Purple Parrots faced off against the HiiPowers in the title game. The Purple Parrots had a conference record of 5-1 & the #2 overall seed in the playoffs. The HiiPowers had a perfect conference record of 6-0 & finished the year as the #1 overall seed still seeking their first title. The HiiPowers started out strong as they were awarded 60 points from Alvin Kamara on Christmas Day with his 6 rushing TD performance. This happened to be the best performance ever in a week 16 fantasy championship by a RB in fantasy football history. That day is now re-named Kamara-MAS. The HiiPowers would then go into MNF with a 75+ point lead on the Purple Parrots. With great luck & hope on their side, the Purple Parrots came charging back to overcome that 75+ point deficit on MNF with the year's best QB/WR stack on the season of Josh Allen/Stefon Diggs. Allen & Diggs combined for 80.1 fantasy points to give the Purple Parrots the win & their second title in 4 years. With their third straight title loss, the HiiPowers are now 1 loss away from becoming the early 90's Buffalo Bills. Final standings below...
