January and the first two weeks of February is :  Why Jesus.

We will be using EQ saints Equipped for Life  and Interlinc.

TOPICS:

1.  Who is Jesus?   2. What did Jesus do?  3. What did Jesus say?4. Why did Jesus die? 5. Why did Jesus rise?

January 3 and 7 "Who is Jesus?"

Turns from talking about God, in general, to reintroducing the person of Jesus. Jesus is being introduced as the Son of God. This is His core identity, and it is because of His relationship as Son of the Father that we have salvation. They will be introduced to the Church’s fundamental dogma that Jesus is fully God and also fully human. The session seeks to have this doctrinal point translate to practical application. First, the participants will examine the impact of relationships with those closest to them and what it means to actually know someone. Through this framework, they will examine what to know and understand about Jesus and that He shares His relationship with the Father with us.

January 10th and14th "What did Jesus do?"

We continue to reintroduce the person of Jesus to those who may have grown complacent to the impact that Jesus can have on their lives. In the previous session, “Who Is Jesus?”, we saw His identity as the Son of God. We now will introduce the group to Jesus’s ministry while He lived among the people of ancient Palestine. The core Scripture verse that the session uses appears twice in Matthew’s gospel: Matthew 4:23 and Matthew 9:35. This describes Jesus’s ministry as a threefold ministry of 1) teaching 2) preaching and 3) healing. The group will explore each of these aspects of Jesus’s ministry.

Janurary 24th and 28th " What did Jesus Say?

This session now goes more in depth into the teachings of Jesus who said that the Law and the Prophets can be summed up in the two

greatest commandments 1) to love god with everything that we are and 2) to love others as much as we love ourselves.  this session will introduce a way to pray with the Bible as a way to encounter what Jesus says.

January 31st and February 4th " Why Did Jesus Die?

To address the questionn, " Why did Jesus die?  Youth will examine Gods disire to share Hsi divine life with humanity.  They will also examine Christ's death and suffering, and God's desire for our salvation.

February 7th and February 11th :Why did Jesus Rise?

To address this question, "Why did Jesus rise?  youth will first look at the crucifixition and how the resurretion of Christ opens to us the path of everlasting life.  'Youth will examine the hope, happiness and joy that can only be found in the resurrection of Christ as they live inthe world now.
