Dr. Simant Shankar Bharti is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences, VIZJA University, Warsaw, and the author of 'The European Union's Role in South Asia: Development Policy and Soft Power' (Routledge, 2025). Additionally, he conducts seminars for the Erasmus Exchange Programme at the University of Warsaw's Faculty of Political Science and International Studies. He received his doctorate in Political Science and Public Administration, focusing on development diplomacy and soft power (international relations) from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, Warsaw, Poland.
Dr. Bharti has a distinguished academic career with over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, commentary, and media reviews. Following his PhD, Dr. Bharti's primary research areas are the Global South, Emerging Powers and Postcolonialism in International Relations. Additionally, his research interests extend to South Asian regionalism, European Union policies, the EU’s role in the Global South, the geopolitics of the world order, and the evolving role of developing countries in international relations.
