A clinker flow analysis was conducted using a Rocky DEM to explore the causes of clinker build-up in the transfer chute system. The simulation showed high concentrations at the top platform area and the uneven distribution of the clinker flow with low amount of clinker in the North chute. The North chute opening position was structurally modified based on the particle flow behavior in order to enhance the flow guidance and distribution. The resulting geometry was then re-simulated and significant improvements in clinker buildup and overall flow reliability were observed.
