SSA Vic Workshop Financial Support

The Victorian Branch is offering financial support to its members for attending statistical workshops / short courses in 2021.

Current SSA supported workshops:

You can find these and upcoming workshops in the events list at https://www.statsoc.org.au/Events-listing.

We encourage you to take advantage of this funding to attend our workshops, but the funding may also be used to support registration for non-SSA workshops too.

What costs does this support cover?

This support may cover costs for workshop / short course registration up to the value of $125.

Who can apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be members of the Victorian Branch at the time of application. (Membership is only $20 for students!)

  • Register, and attend, a statistics-related workshop / short course.

Applications meeting the following criteria will be prioritised:

  • SSA workshops/courses (ahead of any non-SSA ones).

  • Members without access to any other funding sources.

In addition, we will try to distribute the funding so that it is balanced with respect to gender. To help us do this, we would appreciate it if you would let us know your gender in your application.

You may apply more than once (e.g. if attending multiple workshops). However, each member will only be awarded at most $125 across all of their applications.

How do I apply?

Please submit your application via the following form:

https://forms.gle/cUNniXNzRXHfH6M79

Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis, until the allocated funding has been exhausted.

When will I know the outcome?

Applicants who are granted financial support will be notified via email soon after the start of each month, following their application.

How will funds be provided?

Reimbursement for SSA courses will be handled either as a reduced fee for registration or a direct payment as a reimbursement. Reimbursement for external courses will be provided after the course date upon presentation of receipts.
