About Library
The founder of Shri Shivaji education society, Amravati; Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh established Shri Shivaji Agriculture College in the year of 1958 for Vidarbha Region. The purpose behind the establishment of the college was to serve the Farmer’s society, to cater the basic needs of quality education in the field of Agriculture, to inform the modern Agriculture information Technology to the children of Farmers. Firstly, Shri Shivaji Agriculture College, Amravati, was affiliated to Nagpur University, Nagpur up to 31st May 1968. Later, it was affiliated to the newly established Maharashtra Agriculture University i.e. Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krushi Vidyapeeth, Akola since from 20th October 1969.
The courses run by this college are at Bachelors and Master level in Agriculture. The Bachelor of Sciences in Agriculture is of four years degree curriculum and the Master of Science in Agriculture is of two years PG degree curriculum. There are two specialization in PG course - Agriculture Economics and Agriculture Extension. The admission of these both courses are made through MCAER, Pune.
Since from the beginning , the college Library is serving the Students, Researcher, Teaching Staff and non-teaching staff members as well as other interested outdoor members, every year the library and information resources center is enriching its Agricultural information resources with local, regional, state, National and international level.
Aims of the Library
· To develop collection of reading material useful for various courses.
· To provide full information support to the teaching- learning process in the college.
· To provide various library services and facilities to the readers.
· To support research activity for its process and qualitative development.
· To support parent institution for development quality of learning and teaching.
