D- License Training

Our students train on a variety of road types from city & freeway traffic. We confidently prepare our students with hands-on training & real world situations.

If you’re interested in operating heavy equipment or light trucking, but you don’t want to do long hauls, then a DZ License might be perfect for you.  The D-class license allows you to operate heavy vehicles exceeding 11,000kg, while potentially towing up to 4,600kg. So, this excludes large cargo trailers, but it does qualify you to operate a range of other professional heavy vehicles such as straight trucks, cement trucks, dump trucks, snowplows, and similar vehicles.

The Z in the license means you can operate vehicles with air brakes. This is usually required since air brakes are standard on most heavy machinery, but technically not mandatory.

The best way to get a DZ license involves attending a DZ license course from a respected school. Here’s everything you need to know.

Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Course

Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Course is 12 hour Ministry of Transportation approved SOSA Air Brake Endorsement course including theoretical and practical training Includes:

In Ontario, most large commercial vehicles are equipped with an air brake system. You must have an air brake endorsement on your driver’s licence to drive these vehicles. Our program is to introduce you to the knowledge and skills you need to drive a vehicle with air brakes in a safe and lawful manner. It contains the information you need to prepare for the air brake endorsement examination.

Upon completion of course a certificate will be provided, make sure that you check the spelling of your name and Drivers License number and take this Certificate to your nearest Driver Test Centre as soon as convenient but before the end of the SIX MONTH completion date which is on the bottom right of your certificate.

Once the certificate has expired you MUST take the entire course again at your own cost. For the nearest Drive Test Centre visit: www.drivetest.ca
