U9 (“U9,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides AI-powered image upscaling and image enhancement features through the U9 mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the app, how it is used, when it may be shared with service providers, and what choices you have.
By using U9, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
U9 helps users improve the quality and resolution of their images using AI-powered upscaling and enhancement tools.
To provide these features, we process only the information necessary to perform the requested image enhancement. U9 does not sell personal data and does not use uploaded images for advertising or identity profiling.
When you use U9, we may process information you voluntarily provide, including:
Images you upload for upscaling or enhancement
Selected enhancement settings or tool selections
Generated output images
Limited technical and device information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the app, such as app version, device type, crash logs, analytics events, and basic request metadata
We process this information only as needed to provide the app’s functionality.
When you upload an image to U9, that image is processed solely to perform the enhancement or upscaling request you initiated.
This may include:
Increasing image resolution
Improving sharpness and clarity
Reducing blur or noise
Enhancing visual details
Applying optional face enhancement when selected by the user
We do not review uploaded content for advertising purposes, and we do not use your uploaded content to identify you.
U9 does not collect, store, or use face data for identity recognition, biometric identification, or profiling.
However, if you voluntarily use the Face Enhance feature, the uploaded image may contain facial features that must be processed in order to improve facial clarity and quality in the final result.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “face data” means facial features visible in an uploaded photo that are processed only to improve the quality of the face in the enhanced image output.
If you select Face Enhance:
facial features in the uploaded image are processed only to enhance the face in the output image
face-related information is used only to fulfill your request
it is not used to identify who you are
it is not used for facial recognition, biometric templates, profiling, advertising, or tracking
Face-related image information is processed only when:
you upload an image containing a face, and
you choose a feature such as Face Enhance that requires facial improvement
Any face-related data contained in uploaded images is retained only for as long as needed to complete the enhancement request, deliver the result, maintain short-term processing reliability, or recover failed jobs where necessary.
We do not intentionally keep biometric identity records or facial recognition templates.
To provide U9’s AI enhancement and upscaling features, submitted content may be securely transmitted to trusted third-party AI processing providers.
This may include:
the image you upload
selected enhancement options
technical parameters needed to process the request
limited metadata necessary for routing, security, and service reliability
If you use Face Enhance, the transmitted image may contain facial features solely because those features are part of the image you asked us to enhance.
We share submitted data only because third-party infrastructure is necessary to perform the AI image processing requested by the user.
This processing is limited to:
image upscaling
image enhancement
face enhancement when selected
returning the processed result to the user
maintaining system reliability, security, and abuse prevention
We do not share uploaded content with third parties for advertising or unrelated marketing purposes.
U9 may use trusted third-party providers to help operate the app, including providers for:
AI image processing and enhancement
cloud storage or content delivery
Google Analytics for Firebase
Firebase Crashlytics
These providers may process data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and subject to their own legal and contractual obligations.
We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
This may include:
temporary retention of uploaded images during processing
short-term retention of generated outputs for delivery or retry purposes
temporary logs required for security, fraud prevention, performance monitoring, or troubleshooting
locally stored history or cached content on your device, depending on app functionality
If the app provides a history feature, generated results may remain available until deleted by you or automatically removed according to app behavior.
U9 may store certain information locally on your device, such as:
generated images saved by you
app preferences
cached previews
recent processing history
You may remove locally stored app data by deleting saved items within the app, clearing app data where available, or uninstalling the app.
We may collect limited analytics and diagnostics information to maintain and improve the app, such as:
crash reports
performance data
app usage events
device and operating system information
For these purposes, U9 may use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. These tools help us understand app performance, identify bugs, improve stability, and improve the overall user experience.
We do not use analytics data to identify users personally unless necessary for security or fraud prevention.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information during transmission, processing, and storage.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You should avoid uploading highly sensitive or confidential images unless you are comfortable doing so.
U9 is not directed to children under the age prohibited by applicable law without parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your information, such as the right to request access, deletion, or correction.
You may also choose not to upload images or use features such as Face Enhance.
