Human-Computer Interaction Researcher
I am a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher with a passion for exploring the intricate connections between technology and society. I earned my Ph.D. in HCI from Pennsylvania State University in December 2023, where I was privileged to work in the College of Information Science and Technology's Collaboration and Innovation Lab, guided by the esteemed Dr. John M. Carroll and Dr. Mary Beth Rosson.
My research lies at the intersection of HCI, Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), and Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI). I focus on community and health informatics, dedicated to researching and designing ethical, inclusive, and trustworthy intelligent systems that empower human-led innovations. My methodological expertise includes qualitative approaches such as interviews, observations, participatory design, scenario-based design, and focus groups, which I utilize to study individuals, communities, and activities, identifying rich opportunities for design research.
Throughout my career, I have contributed to a diverse array of research projects. These include collaborative system design for citizen science, enhancing family support for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy through a language model application, creating chatbots for indigenous communities, designing interfaces for people with visual impairments, developing explainable AI to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, investigating local community misinformation practices, and examining smart community services as socially reciprocal co-productions.
My work is driven by a commitment to creating technology that not only solves problems but also enriches lives, fostering a more connected and informed society.
