Mother Nature Calling Song

This poem inspired from Margaret Wise Brown poem The Secret Song.

I wrote this poem for my daughters.

Who saw the dew drop fall from the flower?

I, said the rising sun.

But nobody knows.

Who saw the sunrise flash on the mighty mountains?

I, said the passing clouds.

But nobody knows.

Who saw the rainbow spread across the sky?

I, said the colourful butterfly.

But nobody knows.

Who saw a tiny seed grow into a huge tree?

I, said the stone next to the tree.

But nobody knows.

Who saw the flowers bloom across the fields?

I, said the honeybees that gather nectar.

But nobody knows.

Who saw the waves lash across the shore?

I, said the seashells scattered across the shoreline.

But nobody knows.

Who saw the lightning crack in the sky with loud thunder?

I, said the raindrops falling from the cloud.

But nobody knows.

Who made these natural events possible?

We know it is Mother Nature who is colourful, wonderful and beautiful.

Mother Nature provides us with everything we need. One should always care, nurture, preserve, and conserve and be concerned about Mother Nature.
