IEEE CUET WIE Affinity Group Student Branch Design Lead
The IEEE CUET Student Branch is the official student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in Bangladesh. It provides opportunities for students to connect with professionals, enhance technical and leadership skills, and participate in workshops, projects, and contests. The branch also includes specialized 7 groups like the Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, PES, EMBS, SPS, APS, PS the Computer Society (CS) Chapter.
I joined the IEEE CUET Student Branch as a student member in 2020, actively participating in various programs and competitions. My first competitive experience was as a team leader in an online case competition. Over the following years, I engaged deeply with club activities, serving on the graphics team for the 2023–24 committee and later becoming the WIE design lead. My journey progressed from design lead to Vice Chair of the club.
As an organizer, I played key roles in arranging FTC 4, handling sponsor relations, judge management, and overall program coordination. When I became an core committee member in 2024, our committee successfully delivered several impactful events including higher studies roadmap sessions, the research-focused workshop RESPRO, competitions like SCIBLITZ and 3 Minute Thesis, as well as sports events such as football and badminton tournaments.
These experiences strengthened my skills in team leadership, program coordination, and event management, while enabling me to contribute actively to the CUET engineering student community.
Joyoddhoney, CUET stands as the largest and sole non-political cultural organization at Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology, boasting over 1,000 active members and a strong tradition of success. I have been actively involved with the club since 2019 and had the opportunity to serve as Vice-President after being elected in November 2024, officially handed over leadership to the next executive committee in June 2025.
During my time with Joyoddhoney, CUET, I participated in and contributed to a variety of activities. As part of "Badhonhara" (An inter-departmental cultural competition, one of the biggest cultural events of CUET ), I led my department’s student team as the team leader in Badhonhara 3.0. In Badhonhara 4.0, I served as the program coordinator, overseeing the entire event, and 'Tarunner Joyogan' including judge management, program planning, and man management. These roles helped me develop valuable skills in leadership, organization, and teamwork through hands-on program experience. As a cultural club member, I also performed in dramas and mimes and played the violin at both online and offline events, further enriching my creative and collaborative abilities.
The Hult Prize is a global competition for students to develop for-profit social enterprise ideas that address challenges aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
I gained valuable experience serving on the design team for Hult Prize CUET, where I also developed essential skills in documentation, professional email communication, and event organization. My responsibilities included managing judge and sponsor relations, leading the graphics team, and coordinating administrative tasks for the competition. This hands-on involvement helped me strengthen my abilities in design leadership, effective communication, and multi-team management skills crucial for running successful large-scale events.
I am represented the organization on campus and actively promoted its programs, events, and opportunities to students. Also organized outreach activities and engaged with student communities to increase awareness and participation.
