Welcome here! I am Samuele Riccò, currently a FWF Projektassistent under the supervision of Elisa Davoli (TU Wien). I am employed in the research group "Multiscale Calculus of Variations" led by Elisa Davoli at the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing of TU Wien. I also am an alumnus of the Vienna School of Mathematics.
My research topics are mainly coming from physics and materials science problems, and I deal with them using techniques from Calculus of Variations and the theory of Partial Differential Equations. More in detail, some of my research topics are:
Homogenization of composite materials
Solid-solid phase transition problems
Imaging problems
Orlicz and Musielak-Orlicz spaces
Regularity theory in Calculus of Variations
Partial differential operators
You can find me at the following upcoming events:
Analysis and applications, Erwin Schrödinger International Institute, Vienna (22-26 Jun 2026)
Variational Problems in the Physical and Data Sciences: Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation, Banff International Research Station (5-10 Jul 2026)
Junior Research Retreat: Multiscale Phenomena in the Calculus of Variations, Hausdorff Center for Mathematics, Bonn (15-19 Feb 2027)
