What is a Promethean Board?
The Promethean board is an interactive whiteboard that allows you to project an image from a laptop or computer. You can also interact with the board through touch or specialized pens. Anything that can be done on a computer monitor can be replicated on this interactive whiteboard, which then becomes viewable by an entire classroom. At SRHS, we have two models of the Promethean Board in teacher classrooms.
With this Promethean Board, the speakers are integrated with the board and it has a dark gray trim around the edge. To connect the board to your computer, please plug in the gray USB near the projector wall drop into one of the USB ports on your docking station. On the side panel of the board, you can turn on the speakers and adjust the volume.
Pens for the board are available, please enter a technology work order to request the pen. In the notes on the work order, please indicate that you have a board with integrated speakers.
With this Promethean Board, there are not any integrated speakers and it has a light gray trim around the edge. You will need to use external speakers for your classroom. If you need speakers, please enter a work order. To connect the board to your computer, please plug in the gray USB near the projector wall drop into one of the USB ports on your docking station.
