Synopsis

Ritual is a cinematic exploration of the invisible forces that govern our world. Using found time-lapse cinematography and striking juxtapositions, the film observes the universal patterns of energy, order, and control that connect the smallest biological processes to the largest human systems.

As my debut film, the creative challenge was to stitch together a cohesive visual narrative driven entirely by an original soundtrack.

The Narrative

• Act I: Tension and Ascent, The film opens by contrasting the primitive energy of a candle flame with the explosive power of a rocket launch. The narrative then shifts into the city, capturing the complex, rapid flow of urban life and automated engineering. The tension builds to a peak, abruptly pausing on a nostalgic 1950s car advertisement, a stark symbol of consumerism.

• Act II: Resolution and Connection , The tension releases into the natural world, linking the algorithmic movement of schooling fish to the chaotic flow of city scooter swarms. By paralleling global lightning storms with the microscopic firing of brain cells, the film explores universal networks. It concludes with the modern ritual of the glowing phone screen before returning to the candle, completing the cycle in a moment of silence.
