- AGAPE COFFEE is a business model that creates a support system to farmers and women get a better income for themselves to support families.

Creating a Gender balancing

Across the region, coffee is still widely seen as “ men’s crop” and the image of farmers is often male. Typically, female farmers are referred to as “ farmer’s wife”. But in my experience of working with communities in the agriculture sector, women are also engaged throughout the value chain as producers, cooperative leaders, collectors, traders, roasters, cuppers and coffee shop owners. When we discuss man and woman, for me it is about gender balancing because in my perspective women are also very important and role a part of economic development and sustainable business systems. And I figure out, our culture in Cambodia puts more pressure on women that’s why women are always looking down on herself. My business vision is “empower women for gender equality ”. That is why being disadvantaged to women workers is our business core value.

Our Business Impact

● For a long time, agriculture has recognized the value of pollination by bees. It shows Bees is very important of food

supply system which increases high income for farmers. Our progress in the activity, its development is far below that expected for a country that has one of the largest biodiversity on the planet and conditions conducive to beekeeping. We believe through our training system, it can be an alternative to attract new beekeepers to become entrepreneurs and increase their relevance as a means to achieve sustainable ecosystem development. Beekeeping is an economic activity of the agricultural sector and a powerful tool to achieve sustainable development.

KHMER NECTAR HONEY create this business model to contributes to the balance of the ecosystem and biodiversity

to achieve environmentally sustainable production. In fact, honey bees are major assets to the agriculture industry. But In many areas, millions of colonies of wild honey bees have been wiped out by urbanization, pesticides, and parasitic mites, devastating the wild honey bee population. That’s why we’re thinking of creating a future project called BEE Clean Energy This project is a combination work between Beekeeper and Solar. It will provide farmers a water system, electricity and honey. More than that, this system will support crops that produce more yield. That is beneficial for human life and the planet.
