If you want a versatile, universal sensor capable of monitoring temperature across multiple fluids with a wide-ranging gauge interface, choose SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant; if you need a precise, vehicle-specific radiator fan switch and wiring harness kit for your Honda or Acura, choose MecXora 37760-P00-003.
• SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant: Best strength is its extreme versatility as a single-wire sender for oil, water, or coolant in any application; biggest trade-off is that it requires custom installation into an engine block or sandwich plate rather than plugging into a factory socket. This pick is for DIY enthusiasts building custom setups or repairing aftermarket gauges on older vehicles.
• MecXora 37760-P00-003: Best strength is its direct plug-and-play compatibility with a specific lineup of Honda and Acura models from the early 2000s; biggest trade-off is that it is useless on any vehicle outside that narrow list. This pick is for owners of 1992–2007 Honda/Acura models needing a quick replacement for a failed cooling fan system.
• Verdict: You are choosing between a universal tool for fluid monitoring (SREUOIL) and a targeted repair part for a specific cooling circuit (MecXora).
The SREUOIL unit is designed for the builder, the restorer, or anyone running a non-standard gauge setup. Its primary function is to act as a temperature sender that translates thermal data into electrical resistance. Unlike a simple on/off switch, this device provides a continuous reading. It covers a temperature range from 0 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, which translates to 0 to 150 degrees Celsius. This broad spectrum makes it ideal for applications where you need to see exactly how hot your transmission, oil pan, or coolant system is getting, rather than just knowing when a fan should kick in.
Installation is where this product shines differently from standard OEM parts. It features a 1/8 NPT thread, allowing it to screw directly into an engine block, a sandwich plate, or a dedicated sensor port. The design relies on a single wire connection for the signal, while the metal casing itself acts as the ground when threaded into place. This "one-wire" simplicity is a massive advantage for custom wiring jobs where minimizing clutter is essential. The package includes the sensor itself plus a wire terminal connector, meaning you get the core components needed to bridge the gap between the engine and your dashboard gauge.
Who should buy this? If you are retrofitting an older truck with modern digital gauges, or if you are building a custom race car and need to monitor oil temps specifically, this is the component you need. It is also perfect for replacing a faulty aftermarket sensor where the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part is no longer available. However, you should skip this if you are looking for a direct bolt-in replacement for a stock Honda cooling fan switch. It does not come with a pre-made harness or a factory-style connector, so it will not fit into the original socket without some modification to your wiring.

The MecXora 37760-P00-003 is engineered for a very specific purpose: managing the radiator cooling fans on a long list of popular Honda and Acura vehicles. This is not a general-purpose sensor; it is a dual-function assembly that combines a radiator fan switch with a dedicated wiring harness. When the coolant reaches a certain temperature, this switch closes the circuit to turn the fans on.
What sets this apart is the inclusion of the harness. Many competitors sell just the switch, forcing you to splice wires or find adapters. It also includes two terminals. This ensures a complete, secure electrical connection right out of the box. The switch itself has 2-blade male terminals, which mate perfectly with the provided harness. This attention to detail means you aren't fighting with stripped wires or loose connections during a repair.
This product is strictly for owners of select models including the Acura CL, Integra, MDX, RSX, TL, TSX, and various Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, Element, Odyssey, Pilot, and S2000 models built between 1992 and 2007. If your vehicle falls into this category and your cooling fans have stopped working due to a bad sensor, this is the solution. It replaces a wide array of part numbers, from 201-1650 to TS-295T, giving you confidence that you have the correct replacement regardless of which version was originally installed. If you drive a Ford, Toyota, or any non-Honda vehicle, this part will simply not work.
• Best for universal fluid monitoring → SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant (measures up to 300°F across oil, water, and transmission).
• Best for direct Honda/Acura fan replacement → MecXora 37760-P00-003 (exact fit for 1992–2007 models).
• Best for custom gauge installations → SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant (requires threading into the engine, works with aftermarket gauges).
• Best for plug-and-play electrical repair → MecXora 37760-P00-003 (includes pre-wired harness and connectors).
• Best for heavy-duty temperature ranges → SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant (wide Ohms range from 29150 down to 1270 Ω).
• Best for maintaining factory cooling logic → MecXora 37760-P00-003 (switches fans on automatically at specific thresholds).
• Best for minimal wiring complexity → SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant (single-wire earthed through thread design).
• Best for completeness of kit → MecXora 37760-P00-003 (includes switch, harness, and terminals in one box).
I would recommend the MecXora 37760-P00-003 if you own a compatible Honda or Acura and your cooling fans have failed. The inclusion of the wiring harness is a game-changer; it turns a potentially frustrating wiring job into a straightforward swap. Having the correct terminals and the exact length of wire included means you don't have to hunt for extra parts or risk damaging your existing loom. For tire maintenance and general vehicle health, keeping your engine cool is paramount, and this part ensures that happens reliably.
Conversely, I would choose the SREUOIL Universal Water Coolant only if you are building something unique or need to install a high-range gauge on an older machine. It is a fantastic piece of hardware for monitoring temperatures in real-time, but it demands more skill to install because it lacks a factory connector. In my opinion, unless you are doing a custom build, the specificity of the MecXora makes it the smarter, safer choice for daily drivers. Both products offer solid warranties—lifetime for SREUOIL and one year for MecXora—but the MecXora solves a specific problem with zero guesswork. Ultimately, for tire maintenance and ensuring your vehicle runs within safe operating parameters, the right cooling switch is the critical link, and MecXora provides that link perfectly for its intended audience.
No, the SREUOIL is a universal sender that threads into the engine block. It is not designed to replace the specific radiator fan switch located in the coolant passage of a 2005 Honda Accord, which requires a specific voltage threshold switch and connector.
Yes, the MecXora 37760-P00-003 package includes the radiator fan switch along with a dedicated 18 AWG wiring harness, a round female connector, and two terminals, making it a complete replacement set.
Yes, the MecXora 37760-P00-003 comes with a one-year warranty and messaging support available within 24 hours to assist with fitment or technical questions.
